“to most Americans it really is seen as being rude”
Which Americans would those be? The ones who look down their nose at “flyover country” full of people clinging to guns and religion? Or the ones who constantly write off my hometown as a cesspool that is “worse than Iraq”?

The same ones that think that it is rude to look at people in the midwest and south as toothless dullards that like to sleep with their siblings, shoot guns at passing cars for fun, and drink moonshine for breakfast.
