Well, I have to say that as the student body was there, the staff was there, and many of the parents of the students at this Christian Academy were there - as well as media and Cruzs entourage, at “nearly” 1000 attendees (according to local press) that means between 300-350 “outsider” supporters were there. NOT a big success.

If Trump were to hold a rally in such an area it would be massive. Comparatively there is no comparison.

It is what is is.

These are people interested in hearing what Cruz has to say.....unlike Trump rallies where people attend to see a celebrity... and there were plenty who attend/ed who have no intention of voting Trump. Why do you think he started to require that they say they were supporters on entry. His campaign knew his celebrity was getting in the way of an honest count...which was fine for the media exposure...but not in any way an indication of who the voters would actually be.

Cruz's campaign has been all along and planned as a Grassroots campaign.....he knew that would require one on one with the voters, explaining and talking the issues they needed and wanted to hear....in smaller groups with an occasional larger (Rally) when thought good to arrange. He's where he is as second because of his ground game....and second is a very good spot and allows a lot more manuverability.....where he's been also working the delegates from the get go. Two very different campaigns.....one is based on careful planning, a large team and organization par excellence. and because of this, and as the game moves to convention Cruz can out-hustle Trump's team to flip delegates and win the nomination on the floor...and flipping delegates is a large part of the game.

“...Not a big success...”

I live in the greater Capital District of NY area (Scotia is considered part of this region) and the local radio yesterday was reporting that there were virtually no Cruz supporters in the vicinity = no signs, nothing - one Hillary sign and that was it.
