Its not the will to win that matters. ... Its the will to prepare to win that matters.
Paul Bear Bryant
HOUSTON -- People here at Ted Cruzs campaign headquarters are meticulously preparing to win a contested convention, if there is one. Because Donald Trump is a low-energy fellow, Cruz will be positioned to trounce him in Cleveland, where Trumps slide toward earned oblivion would accelerate during a second ballot.
Wisconsin has propelled Trump, a virtuoso of contempt, toward joining those he most despises: losers. In the 1992 general election, Ross Perot, a Trump precursor, won 21.5 percent of Wisconsins vote, above the 18.9 percent he won nationally. Wisconsins populist tradition is persistent and indiscriminate enough to encompass Robert La Follette and Joseph McCarthy. And evangelical Christians are less important in Wisconsin than in contiguous Iowa. Nevertheless, temperate Wisconsin rejected Trump, partly for the reason that one of his weakest performances so far was in the reddest state, Utah, where conservative Mormons flinched from his luridness. His act ignorance slathered with a congealed gravy of arrogance has become stale.
If, as seemed probable a month ago, Trump had won Wisconsin, he would have been well-positioned to win a first-ballot convention victory. Now he is up against things to which he is averse: facts. For months Cruzs operation has been courting all convention delegates, including Trumps. Cruz aims to make a third ballot decisive, or unnecessary...

And speaking of Cruz, this should be his campaign song:
Cruz: Bronx school visit canceled after students plan walkout
Ted Cruz came to New York Wednesday talking about education, but hes the one who got schooled.
-—New York Daily News
Lol...is that a real headline?
Exactly!
The guy who has yet to pick up a majority of the vote in any state?
It isn’t as if Cruz is breaking into Trump Towers and absconding with delegates.
Organization is extremely important, that’s always been the obvious fact, no excuse for low-energy Trump. He only gets pumped up for big rallies, yelling “Lyin Ted” then he goes and watches himself on TV, punctuated by an occasional counter-productive tweet. Can’t build a good disciplined team. He’ll be a useless President.
I’m in Colorado, Cruz has built a very smooth efficient machine amazing to observe. The Trump campaign in Colorado, on the other hand, is completely dysfunctional. A joke. They don’t show up, at the precinct caucus they were no-shows, .so, no delegates. Duh.
You don't have to be left winged or right-winged to realize that Ted insulted NY and now is back with hat-in-hand asking for donations and votes. I would be quite surprised if they rolled out the red carpet for him.
I always thought Will and Cokie Roberts should have married and run off into the sunset where we would never hear from either one of them again.
Yep. Deserved too.
That's pure emotion. Please vote your conscience. I'm strongly considering the Constitution Party.
“1237 is an arbitrary number.
It should be the one with the most votes.”
****************************************************
LOL — “Arbitrary number”? It’s called the majority. And guess what—WHOEVER gets to the majority will, by definition, have more votes than any other candidate and more votes than all other candidates combined.
See my tagline!
I will also remind you that Trump will be mathematically eliminated by the end of May.
It’s pretty sad when you have to resort to posting articles written by an admitted atheist, liberal mouthpiece for the GOPe to prop up your boy.
What does that say about you?
George Will has less than zero credibility.
There are atheists here, too. Should they all be banned?
Almost lost the iced tea on that one!
Priebus himself said it was arbitrary and could be changed during the convention.
It’s only a majority number if there are only 2 candidates during the entire campaign.
Sorry, you don’t understand what a majority is. Perhaps you should go back to 3rd grade?
If the goal was winning in November one certainly wouldnt pick Trump.
==
Yes and here’s why and nothing else matters.
Trump annihilated Cruz in FL and OH, by 1 million voters, Cruz was done that night. Can’t win in November without those states. Only way to make Cruz the nominee is at the convention, pissing off 1,000,000 of the most motivated voters we’ve had in 35 years. They’ll understand and vote accordingly.
Trump is the only candidate we have with a chance because he’s got the biggest base of voters. Its that simple no nuance needed. GoPe knows this, their efforts now are to elect Hillary and keep their status quo. Thats all they can do.
