There was no news conference, there were no tweets. There was no steak, no wine, no bottled water.
And then, on what had been perhaps the quietest primary night of Donald J. Trumps political career, there came an email flash. Just like that, Lyin Ted and the Trojan horse were back.
Campaign statement, read the email from Mr. Trumps spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, delivered first to The Washington Post and then to others upon request.

It is time for Trump to talk about Ted’s trade, immigration and financial history and his duplicity about them without one damn insult. Just say what Ted’s policies will do to America. Over and over and do not let one person distract him from saying
it.
Go to the heart of the problem and people will forget Rosie and Carly and Meghan.sp.
Remember Mississippi, that is rich considering Cruz had a hand in that Thad Cochran fiasco.
“That statement is the real nonsense.”
I’m curious why that statement is “real nonsense”? I admit, or at least hope, it is a bit exaggerated but I don’t consider it nonsense. Based on trump’s temperament and his knee-jerk reactions, it could be detrimental. He is not known for subtleness. He is, in fact, known to retaliate by issuing personal insults. He doesn’t argue facts, he tries to tear people down personally based on appearance or jabs. At some point, it could prove to be catastrophic if it is aimed at a more violent personality.
It is an unfortunate fact.
“What is wrong with that statement?”
There are quite a few things wrong with the statement. It is name-calling and conspiracy theorizing. Take out the whole issue of it not being a mature way of losing in Wisconsin. He is claiming that a guy who, by what trump says, is hated by everyone in the RNC, GOP, Congress and the Senate is suddenly in bed with the people that hate him. To what end? To put forth a coup. A coup that would knock both himself and trump out of the race. That is conspiracy theory at its best.
There were multiple posts on the Live Thread by Trump supporters not wanting to believe this statement was real. Including a couple that separately said CNN and Fox were going to get into trouble for reading it on the air. One said it couldn’t be real because it wasn’t on the @RealDonaldTrump Twitter feed. I don’t think that’s the reaction Donald was looking for from his supporters. The only weapon that can take down Trump continues its friendly fire.
“At least this statement got posted on FR again.”
I thought it was odd that the thread got pulled last night as well. I’m not certain why that happened.
Trump calls Cruz Lyin Ted because he tells lies. There is simply no way Cruz could know what is in Trump’s taxes. Yet Romney and his Parrot Cruz happily lie about what MAY be in Trump’s taxes. There is simply nothing principled or conservative about Cruz’s campaign.
On Fox they thought it was the right move to fight back.
And Cruz has hardly been the mature example. Every time he loses he takes to the mic to trash Trump. Oh but last night he said he’s not going to do that anymore. Well he’s done enough for the rest of the election.
He also raised money for the Senate Conservatives Fund that provided support to Chris McDaniel. Chris is one of Ted's co-chairs in Mississippi.
Nice try, though.
Very “liberal” in his attack.
Sounds like things Ted Kennedy would tweet. Minus the bubbles.
I understand ice cubes are very hard to find where Teddy is.
Jedi.
No. He is a demonrat.
His inner liberal is coming to the surface.
Can't contain that kind of vile core forever.
Jedi.
If you want to play stupid, then that’s fine.
You obviously have some batty fantasy that flies in the face of reality.
Just don’t look for our shoulders to cry on when it blows up in your face.
“I understand ice cubes are very hard to find where Teddy is.”
Ha! Plenty of bourbon, cars and bridges though!
... Too soon?
I think because the mods were being cautious. There was no direct link to the campaign on the thread and news outlets such as CNN who were reporting it had not fact checked other reports before going to air in the past. I was even getting hit by other FRiends on that thread last night just for those reasons as I was trying to tell everyone that CNN had a big discussion over it - especially the Trojan horse comment. In any event the statement, as crazy as it is written, was true.
“Its much better to have the polite, measured Presidential demeanor of a Mitt Romney or John McCain as they get bitch slapped by the Democratic nominee.”
There is nothing conservative about being an ass for the joy of being an ass. But Trump cannot help himself...he’s been and has supported the Party of Asses his entire life. He is an Ass Who Can’t Change His Spots...
If I want to vent on FR, that is one thing. If I vent in a similar manner at work, I’d be fired. Regardless of how one feels in private, public behavior requires something more.
Hillary is pure evil, but Trump makes her look presidential. I’ll vote against Hillary no matter who her opponent is - Trump or Jeb or someone pulled off the streets. But Trump is working hard to alienate millions of voters from ever voting for him. That is a bad idea.
That's what the little blue checkmark is for. It is Twitter has verified that the account belongs to the actual person. This is really Donald Trump's account.
The thing is, Phyllis has NOT endorsed anyone. She’s spoken well of Trump, but she has not officially endorsed him.

“Irreligious twit”? So very Christian of you.
Again, just as Phyllis Schlafly has “endorsed” nobody, Frankly Graham has “endorsed” nobody.
Get your facts straight.
And quit the personal insults.
“He doesnt argue facts, he tries to tear people down personally based on appearance or jabs.”
Have you, by any chance, ever noticed how Cruz talks about Trump?
“tear people down personally based on appearance...”
He has made a few comments, like we all do, but you must have never read many speeches by Abraham Lincoln.
He can say Ted is telling lies. To name call with Lyin Ted, although funny, is not appropriate for the circumstances and turns potential supporters off.
