Ted Cruz Wins Wisconsin G.O.P. Primary, Pressuring Donald Trump

Senator Ted Cruz soundly defeated Donald J. Trump in the Wisconsin primary on Tuesday, breathing new life into efforts to halt Mr. Trump’s divisive presidential candidacy and dealing a blow to his chances of clinching the Republican nomination before the party’s summer convention.

With more than 80 percent of precincts reporting, Mr. Cruz had received 48 percent of the vote to 34 percent for Mr. Trump. Gov. John Kasich of Ohio was a distant third with 14 percent.

Mr. Trump’s loss was his most significant setback since Mr. Cruz narrowly defeated him in Iowa, the campaign’s first nominating contest. And after largely dominating the Republican field from the moment he announced his candidacy last June, Mr. Trump now faces a fresh challenge: bouncing back in the face of searing attack ads by Republicans bent on stopping him, questions about his demeanor and campaign organization, and a single ascendant challenger in Mr. Cruz.

In winning Wisconsin so convincingly, Mr. Cruz, of Texas, showed he was capable of appealing to more than just the hard-line and religious conservative Republicans who have been the foundation of his campaign.

“Tonight is a turning point,” he told cheering supporters in Milwaukee.

RE:”Thanks to democrats crossing over”

HAHAHA, yep, Democrats LOVE Scott Walker, only someone on drugs would believe that.

Its the Trumpees who brag they they get Dem support for Trump in GOP primaries, Cruz nor Walker would ever brag about something like that,

Obama is an America hating Marxist Islamist SOB but he has been generous with allowing all the leading presidential candidates of both parties (even adding to Hillary’s) Secret Service protection.

Wisconsin is an open primary state. there were 305,000 more Republican votes in 2016 than in 2012. There was significantly increased turnout in counties that are overwhelmingly BLUE. the same thing happened in Ohio with Kasich. Laugh all you like but this is exactly what happened. We are being led to a contested convention for maximum chaos.

“rational , mature , reasoned vote” ?

Vote for BUSH or RUBIO is “rational and mature...” ? Let it alone .
Stop to be....a so-called “rational” and try to be intelligent.... if you can and understand the priorities ! I know it’s more difficult .

TRUMP hit nerves and has the msm against him . This is a big argument to understand that he is threatening their system and dirty business

Certainly, nobody is threatening GOP-e proxies. Is that your concern?

Trump won all or nothing primaries with about 35% of the votes. That means the delegates who represented the 65% who voted AGAINST him still have to vote for him on the first ballots in Cleveland.
Then they are free to vote for whoever they wish.
Florida requires their delegates to vote for Trump three times.
That is why I predict Cruz winning the nomination on the fourth vote.

Trump ‘hatchet man’ says he’ll send loyalists to convention hotel rooms of Republican delegates who plot to ‘steal’ nomination from The Donald (but don’t worry – he’s ‘not advocating violence’ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3525112/onTrump-hatchet-man-says-ll-send-loyalists-convention-hotel-rooms-Republican-delegates-plot-steal-nomination-Donald-don-t-worry-s-not-advocating-violence.html#ixzz451y51o2v

Yep, I know that. I was asking if Ted wears a vest or carries? Is his SS detail include 12+ agents?

Wake up, he’s not a threat to the powers that be and the horrid system they have in place, all around the world.

He’s a tool - to be used. And all those here we claim their are against what this nation has become, are lying. Nobody who is against the McConnell’s/Boehner’s/Ryan’s/Graham’s/Hatch’s/Club for Growth/ can possibly be FOR Ted - it defies logic.

He’s no threat to the game - he IS the game.

If the vote goes to the convention the GOP will lose the WH.

Ted Cruz is TEA Party pedigree with a 97% Conservative Review Liberty Score who was fighting the establishment when Donald Trump was banging Vegas cocktail waitresses two at a time—customers couldn’t get a drink at the tables.
You are misinformed, mendacious or both.

(check tagline)

Well aware of the ‘hotel room’ threats — figured that’s what you referred to earlier. Nonetheless, frustrated campaign underlings are no match for the GOP-e’s organized betrayal of the constituents’ will.

The Left, MSM, and GOP-e are all rooting against Trump and his supporters. Unfortunately, Cruz and his ardent supporters stand ambiguously.

Sure he is, or was.

He’s bought HR, face reality.

Since cruzers think name calling is charming, I’m just following suit.

I see Teddy as the tool - for the GOPe, since that is undeniable at this point, not sure what the problem is.

Wrong.
If Trump gets 1237 the GOP loses the WH.
as per the polls.

Didn’t check my tagline?
But then what is your insignificant and ignorant opinion vs a man who gives credible opinions over 600 radio stations?

When Trump wins they brag about dems *allegedly* voting for him and how wonderful that is to have non-Republicans polluting our primaries.

And now they turn around and blame dems for him losing, lololololololololol.

The GOPe can rig the system and game all the delegates it wants to attempt to plug in their candidate. The one thing they can’t do is get people to actually show up and vote on Election Day.
