You think Verizon’s search engine is bad, you should see Century Link’s. Literally painful.
I just have to change my default search engine. I do that from time to time, but my carrier is Verizon and I think they periodically take it upon themselves to set their own ‘search engine’ up as the default. Everyone here despises google, but at least it works for me!
