Yes, in a sense Trump has the issues, and I am glad he raised them.

But, and this is a problem those who support Trump don’t seem to be able to come to grips with, there is a difference between the GOP and conservative principles. Those who support Trump and those who support Cruz are both against the GOP - or GOPe, if you prefer - as currently constituted. However the Cruz supporters are constitutional conservatives and the Trump supports are supporters of burn the system down and start over again. These two positions are not the same, but they are not irreconcilable. I keep waiting for the two sides to see that together they are stronger, and can win in November.

Good post! I’m a strong Cruz supporter, and I’ve wondered if I could vote for Trump. But then I see the picture of the (IMHO) demon possessed Hillary witch, and think about who trump would, at least, appoint to various departments, etc....and I know I’ve vote against the she-witch even if Jeb ended up being the nominee.

Sorry to ruin the day of purists, but I’d vote for Jeb or Trump over Hillary! But I hope to vote for CRUZ!

“However the Cruz supporters are constitutional conservatives and the Trump supports are supporters of burn the system down and start over again”

Please don’t take this the wrong way but the first part of that statement is simply BS.

Protecting borders is a Constitutional issue. Mr Trump is trying to protect the Constitution from those who would circumvent it via the importation of people who have no respect for it. “You can’t have a nation without laws and you can’t have a nation without laws” That is a Constitutional statement

Mr Trump’s proposal for a national Concealed carry is one of the strongest measures to protect the Constitution EVER proposed.

Mr Trump’s proposal to reduce marginal tax rates and reduce government snooping into personal finances is a Constitution supporting measure.

Mr Trump’s proposal to place a moratorium on taking Muslim immigrants and refugees is a measure that directly protects the Constitution against the deprivations of Sharia law.

Please. Take a look at Mr Trump’s actual proposals that he has published on his website. Every issue he supports indicates he is a Constitutional conservative in PRACTICE not just in some theoretical sense.

I apologize if my tone comes across as too strident but the phrase “He’s a Constitutional conservative” just comes across as so incredibly condescending and arrogant

Not accurate at all. Trumpers are issue oriented. Immigration and unfair trade. Cruz knows that which is why he’s been trying to steal Trump’s issues for months. Latest being his shamelss pandering on “fair trade”.

Cruzers, OTOH, are willfully blind to Cruz’s unprincipled and unconservative campaign. If there is a non issue oriented group here it is clearly the Cruzers who find “principled conservatism” in Ted Cruz attacking his opponent on what may be in his taxes.
