Heres a simple question that desperately needs an answer.
Donald Trump won the Arizona primary in a landslide, 47.1 percent to Ted Cruzs 24.9 percent, giving the GOP front-runner all 58 of that winner-take-all states delegates.
Right now, the Cruz campaign is engaged in a furious on-the-ground campaign in Arizona and in other states won by Trump, including Louisiana, Georgia and Tennessee to convert Trump delegates into Cruz delegates on a second ballot, should there be a contested GOP convention this summer.
The question is: Is this moral?
Trump calls it crooked as hell. But lets back up a little.
As the Washington Examiner reported Monday, in a story headlined Cruz snaring Trumps Arizona delegates and posted in the lead position of the Drudge Report:
Sen. Ted Cruz is out-hustling Donald Trump and looks set to ensure many Arizona delegates will defect to him in a convention floor fight.
The Texas senator, who ever since Iowa has played a stealthy ground game in contrast to Trumps chaotic populism, is taking steps to snatch the Republican presidential nomination from The Donald at the convention in July.
The New York businessman easily won last months Arizona primary taking 47 percent to Cruzs 25 percent, scooping up all 58 of the states delegates. Thats nearly 5 percent of the 1,237 Trump needs for the nomination, and theyre tied to him on the first ballot.
But Cruz, exploiting deep opposition to Trump among grass-roots Republicans, has been far more active in Arizona than Trump, insiders say. Hes recruiting candidates for the available 55 delegate slots, that along with the other three delegate positions filled by party leaders, would be allowed to vote for him in a multi-ballot contested convention.

LOL.. Cruz is so smart he is being humiliated in the voting..
You might want to take a moment to note that voting is not done at this point.
I can appreciate that. I think that's honest. I'm not a person who discounts gut feelings completely. I have the same reservations about Trump. There's something that tells me not to trust him.
If Trump doesn’t get 1,237 delegates, how do you want him to earn enough to make up his gap on the second ballot? What is the proper way to get delegates to vote for you who were pledged to someone else that isn’t considered “stealing?”
He comes off as a shady lawyer, and if, IF he were able to steal the nomination from Trump strictly be stealing delegates, millions, MILLIONS of Trump voters would feel disenfranchised by his antics and will NEVER vote for him in the general. It is very disturbing that Cruz is being so brazen with attempting to take away the will of the primary voters in such a shady under handed way.
It's not a matter of if what he is doing is within the "so called" rules of the RNC, it's a matter of is it right to bull doze millions of primary voters who took the time off work, went out of their way to vote early, attended Trump campaign events and were harassed by the Soros team and they still made sure Trump won because of their VOTES.
It is shady, underhanded and he Cruz comes off as a desperate sore loser, slick lawyer who is openly campaigning to disenfranchise Republican primary voters who were worked hard and were very proud that Trump won their home state.
He is just so Smarmy and is such a turn off. Way too desperate and anyone else in Trumps position in modern politics has been been treated much more fairly than Trump has. Over the top desperation and nothing for the Cruz camp to be proud of. Shady, shady lawyer.
You get the economy rolling by getting government out of the way. Cruz understands that to his core.
Trump wants to flirt with tariffs (a form of raising taxes), not do major income/corporate tax reform and does not want to reform social security or medicare at all. None of those positions will help the economy.
Yes it’s moral because Trump isn’t a conservative republican.
In other words, Cruz knows the system. I like that.
So Cruz is too organized... nothing dirty about it.
Mable, Cruz ran for the senate. He made certain promises. He kept them. We already know how he will deal with lobbyists and how he will deal with people like McConnell.
Come into the light. Vote for Ted Cruz.
Will you vote for the Republican candidate if it is not Trump?
It isn't for the purpose of holding up the front runner so someone who isn't even close can steal the nomination.
You stated the situation perfectly. Thank you.
Jefferson, one of THE sleaziest, slimy, nasty pools who ever lived, would like Teddy; so would Burr...also a vicious, nasty pol.
The others wouldn't care for him at all and NONE of them would say that he is eligible to even run for the presidency; even Jefferson!
OTOH, they WOULD approve of Trump, since he's much like them, in that he loves this nation and her populace, is a patriot, and has given up much to run for the presidency AND is self-funding to boot.
Cruz is smarter, because he has a slew of consultants and GOP insiders running his campaign for him, and a virtually unlimited supply of money from his owners, to finance his campaigns vaunted ground game and dirty tricks. So credit his donors and puppet masters. Were talking 100s of years worth of insider experience in sleazy tactics and dirty tricks at his disposal. Thats nothing to be proud of.
Cruz is a Manchurian candidate. Hes the empty suited, slick talking façade. The real people running for President are his owners.

You covered all the bases there...well said!
I can't wait till next week and see you Cruz guys face reality!
Never happened. Carson was always going to endorse Trump. Of course Carson is mega talented and experienced to slated for multiple positions in the Trump Presidency. Did Carson ever say I will only endorse you if you give me X?
Never happened. Who hasn’t discussed that Dr Carson is a natural appointment to several positions because Carson is obviously just that good.
So if Kasich knows the rules and gets rule 40-b changed so he can get nominated without a majority of delegates in 8 states, that is ok with you?
It’s kinda amazing that Trump doesn’t drink..
So many of the things he says and does could be easily attributed to hoisting too many.
Trump can’t even control his tweeting finger.
He tweeted that nasty Heidi post, says he shouldn’t have done it ... and then did it again.
Can we trust a guy who can’t even control his finger?
Cruz is a typical professional politician lawyer and has been all his life. He is by comparison to non lawyer, non politician people inherently scummy. The kind of thing he is doing with delegates is scummy to most people but it is just smart to people like Cruz. I I think that is what is wrong with him.
“established rules”
He’s getting a lot of help from a frantic GOP establishment, that’s for sure.
You think the guy who has 1,200 delegates is going to lose the nomination to the one who has 600?
Come into the light. Vote for Ted Cruz.
