Trump plans to choose experienced politician for VP
The Hill ^ | April 2, 2016 | Evelyn Rupert

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said he is "95 percent" sure he would pick a veteran politician for vice president if elected.

He said he would choose “somebody that can walk into the Senate and who’s been friendly with these guys for 25 years, and people for 25 years and can get things done" in an extensive interview with The Washington Post published Saturday.

“So I would 95 percent see myself picking a political person, as opposed to somebody from the outside," he said.

Haven’t thought of him, but a very good choice.

“did you know that one of the very few powers that the states have actually delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, to regulate domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service (1.8.7)?”

That proves Trump is talking about Kasich.

It is only an educated guess, but to me and IMHO it looks like Cruz is going to be thrown under the Buss. The Art of the Deal etc...

I think you are correct. The GOPe were always going to throw Cruz under the bus. He has fought them tooth and nail in his short Senate career.

And Trump was always going to run 3rd party.

we shall see.

That hasn’t been how Trump has been operating at all.

The last thing he needs from and for his veep is money.

Right after that meeting, Rintz came out with his statement that the delegates would pick the VP, too, not just the President.

Reid is tanned, rested, and ready for VP.

And he can keep one eye on the prize. ;)

“...would pick a veteran politician for vice president if elected”
Last few elections, the VP was “picked” and on the ticket, before the election. Am I missing something here?

Nice catch. Trump doesn't really know how this thing works.

But he can do whatever he wants.

Trump/Reid 2016.

I like Sessions but the only problem is his age. He’s too old to continue after Trump term. He needs a younger principled leader that can take over when Trump steps down.

imo.

One eye on the prize means he could easily be blindsided.

” and has a very definition of Hillary or harry Reid”

Maybe Harry Reid would fit that description but not Mrs Cosby. She was a one term senator and that is the only elected office she’s ever held. She has no record of getting things done and has bungled the chances she’s had.

FWIW I think if Trump is 75 or so delegates short at the convention the VP will be Kasich.

haha, of course. But trump would only keep old Harry around to help him get elected, and then his first 100 day agenda through congress, anyway. Then he would end up getting mad at Harry for something, and post unflattering pictures of his wife, call him a liar, and trade his VP (reid) in for a younger model. Maybe then he could name his VP one of his sons. Then he would have his ideal ticket - Trump/Trump
