As Capitol Hill aides have explained, amongst Washingtons GOP political class Ryan is regarded as the Republican Jesus.
Indeed, National Review, which helped put the third world migration enthusiast Paul Ryan into the Speakers office, seemed to embrace the idea of nudging him into the Oval Office. National Reviews deputy managing editor penned a piece entitled,
Paul Ryan for President! writing: One can imagine a case where Trump and Cruz control 60 to 70 percent of the vote between them, and neither one will budge, and no other candidate or boss will consider helping either one. Then it will be time for a respected and inoffensive candidate to offer a contrast to all the strong personalities in the Republican race, and Ryan is nothing if not Mr. Acceptable.
Speaker Paul Ryan is emerging as the Republicans biggest counterweight to Donald Trump, The Hill wrote in January.
Since Trumps philosophy is so opposite of Ryans, if Trump were to win Wisconsin, it would be seen as a wholesale rejection of Ryan Republicanism. Losing Wisconsin would be politically devastating for Ryan and would make it exceedingly difficult for him to emerge out of the contested convention. As such, Wisconsin is a must-win for Ryan via a proxy of his policy viewpoints, Ted Cruz.
Paul Ryan and corporate media have sought to frame the GOP Civil War of voters versus donors and donor proxies (i.e. Fox News, Republican publications, and various corporate-owned radio networks) as a battle waged over something as frivolous as candidates tone rather than the substantive policy divisions between the electorate and the Partys corporate funders.

They are throwing every possible scenario imaginable out there. Couldn’t be more clear how SCARED they are of DJT. Funny actually. BABIES.
“You continue to insist that a mere plurality — of both delegates and the popular vote — should be sufficient to “win”. I’m sorry...but I just can’t relate to that point of view.”
So who should be the nominee? Someone who received an even smaller share of primary votes?
You’re obviously hoping that the party insiders choose Cruz in their own voting process. Perhaps they will, and when they do, do you really believe that Trump voters - who are all keenly aware that they represent the largest voting block - will coalesce around the guy who lost the race, but won the crown?
You’d better hope like hell it doesn’t come to that. If it does, the Republican will lose the general election and usher in the final chapter of American history.

This is all fever-swamp fantasy stuff. The nominee will be Cruz or Trump. God help us if it’s Trump. But it will be one of those two. Period.
Why people float this stuff I don’t entirely understand.
80-90% of the delegates will be supporting those two. Cruz delegates will never go for something like this. They hate Ryan more than anyone. Trump delegates...who knows? He’s proven so inept at the delegate-wrangling part of this game that it’s hard to tell what they might do, how loyal they are, etc.
I really don’t know who dreams up this stuff. Frustrated political novelists and Allen Drury wannabes I suspect.

“Hello, Aunt B.
Ordinarily I dont bother posting to you because you are among the most hopeless of the worshippers.”
Attacking on of the most stalwart, uncompromising conservatives in the history of FR. Nice. Predictable, too!
” I believe that makes me the better person.”
Than whom, Charles Manson ?
” So, I am only posting to you now to tell you that I dont appreciate being called a troll or told to shut up.”
OK.....I will take over the job of calling you a troll, and to SHUT UP.
“Trump has a great shot at winning with the majority. Cruz has a tiny sliver of a chance. He should step aside.

“hed still intentionally lose to the Democrat.”
That’s what the GOPe wants — they already made a deal wi the Dems for a Hillary presidency, and got well paid for it.
See:
Tech billionaires (major Dem donors, Hillary supporters) plot with GOP leaders at exclusive island resort to stop Trump
Trump and Cruz will not control anything. Delegates only have to vote for them in round one. Delegates will vote to amend/delete rules as they’re paid by GOPE to.
Well in that case we leave by the millions for ever.
.
Have you ever thought about why they want all our guns?
We are a sovereign nation with sovereign laws.
If nobody can state that, they should not be in office.
I don’t hear anybody talking about American exceptionalism, our Constitution, none of it.
This is a government actively being created as a social services office for anybody who wants to come here.
And for what reason? There isn’t one.
