Would some Cruz people please tell me, and be specific with EV counts, what states would Ted Cruz win that Mitt Romney did NOT win in 2012, and get to a total of at least 270 EV's?
Florida.
That’s the rub. He won’t even win all of the States that Romney won.
Interesting to observe the slow change in number, tenor and tone of the posted vanities and replies as the end draws closer. I do prefer “troll” (by someone with a 2004 start date vs. my 1999, yes I’ve been laying in wait 17 years to “troll” for Ted) to some of the other recent names called.
Cruz will win the state of Denial.
1. People put way too much stock in favorability ratings. They do not determine electoral outcomes. Thank goodness, because if they did Kasich would win WI. And Rubio would have won FL.
2. Favorability ratings move just like all other poll numbers do. Just because they’re low now doesn’t mean they will be this low in Nov.
3. Cruz has a 50% unfavorability rating with women. Not as bad as Trump, but not good either.
3. Nobody talks about Hillary’s favorability with men. Hint: it’s bad.
I like Trump and I agree with that. With the new voters, as long as they are motivated, Trump can do quite well in Virginia. In contrast Cruz would struggle to win Virginia. It is possible but it would require high negatives for Hillary with a strong campaign by Cruz. If it is Trump in the general, we are guaranteed of high negatives for Hillary. Trump will keep his high negatives as well, but at least he will make the effort to tear up Hillary.
“Lets say for the moment that this is true. How would Trump be more liked by women? Supporting abortion? Being more the (media preferred) effeminate man?”
When a successful, powerful man mocks his competitor’s wife’s looks, it shows the kind of character many women wouldn’t support. I don’t think the abortion issue has much to do with it, and one doesn’t have to be “effeminate” to be a decent human being.
This question appears to assume that Cruz will carry the states Romney won in 2012.
I’m not certain that assumption is valid at this point.
How could Trump be more liked by women?
How about quit being a boorish NYC elite who denigrates women based on their looks?
Perhaps quit decorating everything like you’re Liberace?
Having conservative principles and sticking too them is also attractive to women. See for example, Ronald Reagan.
Donnie ain’t no Ronnie.
Your analysis is accurate, and Cruz would have to become Donald Trump to pull off a victory in two senses: he would have to attack Hillary on her ethical problems and he would have to create an America-first vision. So far he has been weak on both of those.
Yours is the correct answer.
The only women I see hating Trump are here on FR or the sleazy hags in the lying MSM. Women that I personally know in several states are ok with Trump if he protects the border and increases jobs. None of course plan to marry him so that type adoration isn’t there.
The question won't matter if Trump ensures that Hillary is less liked by women. Many women are smart and see through her empty shell.
“Cruz is a more likely nominee than Trump at this point”
‘Shrooms? Mescaline?
We’ve covered for eons-and it’s no less accurate regarding Trump-that “women I know” has no statistical value and means nothing.
LoL You’re dreaming. Trump has Florida all to himself! New York is looking good for him too, but Florida is in the bag.
If he’s not the nominee, nothings in the bag and he’s back to selling bottled water and steaks.
You should get used to saying PRESIDENT TRUMP because that is how this all ends.
I’m in Florida too. Florida is Trump country.
Thanks for your opinion I will stick with mine. Bless your little toe heart.
