I think it's more likely because they are terrified by Trumps 29/63% approval, disapproval ratings.Which they spent hundreds of millions to help create.
Fixed it for ya!

Now THAT is a true statement.
ONLY Trump is plowing the field with patriotism to the United States of America. Those fighting him are fighting US.

The fix is in so Trump won’t win on the first vote, then we’ll all going to hear that talking point “the rules are the rules” and then surefire-loser stupidity ensues.

The constant drumbeat by CINOs, RINOs, GOPe and the entrenched apparatchiks will implode what was once the Republican party.

I believe we do need a new party. The GOP has failed us time and time again. When has it ever done anything to reduce the size of government, cut spending, or increase our freedoms?
If I was a Democrat I would thank my lucky stars everyday for the Republican Party. Nothing better than having a weak, pathetic “opponent”.

Over time, the party will simply implode or merge with the Democrats. --
Already done, long ago. There are overt signs of this, e.g., Republican Main Street Partnership.

The fix is in so Trump wont win on the first vote, then well all going to hear that talking point the rules are the rules and then surefire-loser stupidity ensues. Trump has to do his part, but it should be possible for him to win the nomination if he doesn't say anything else stupid too often. A lot of his comments help by buying free press, but the "punish the mother" comment on abortion hurt his campaign enough to matter. It's recoverable (although we'll keep hearing it until November), but he cannot afford many of those.

They (Lying GOPee) knew their fix was in the pudding mix.
They’re not even hiding it - dirty trick plan - any longer.

In past elections Paultards were upset that their plot to hijack the convention by having delegates ignore their “represented” candidate on the first ballot didn’t come to pass. I wonder how many are among this lot.

The GOP is a CLUB and we are clearly not members. They view us voters as nothing more than caddys, porters, and housekeepers.
------
Now THIS is a FANTASTIC THEME to hit the GOPe and mainstream media with.
Massa Priebus, we voters don't know nuthin bout votin' right. Please, Massa, take away our rights to choose us our own candidate, we too dumb to know what to do, Massa."
