This is a red herring actually, because of what Cruz is doing as described in the article you posted. He (Cruz) is ensuring that if a second ballot is required, then the majority of delegates are going to be loyal to him. So the GOPe can make all the “fresh face” pleas it wants, they too will be left out in the cold if they haven’t ensured the required number of delegates will vote for said “fresh face”.
I just can’t see Cruz picking up the necessary number of delegates using this type of strategy.
McConnell, Ryan, and company will crush him once the 1st ballot is over.
