The Cruz campaign has gone on record supporting women getting abortions. The campaign says there should be no punishment for those women if abortion is illegal. Deadline Hollywood reports:
Ted Cruz campaign chairman Chad Sweet...this afternoon told CNNs Jake Tapper that Cruz believes in punishment for doctors who perform abortions, not the women who get them.
Pro-life supporters are scratching their heads. If they succeed in getting a pro-life amendment, Ted Cruz appears to be saying that the amendment should contain some kind of non-culpability clause, so that Congress can write any law resulting from a Life Amendment in a manner that allows women to have abortions in this country with no worries about the law.
In fact, since Cruz thinks only doctors should be punished, if a nurse or other type of provider performs the abortion, then the odd situation of a Life Amendment with abortions still being performed will be the result. The bottom line is that Ted Cruz has no problem with women having abortions.
One has to wonder sometimes about lawyers.
You reveal yourself as someone who can’t be taken seriously with these posts of yours.
Font is a not a substitute for persuasive argument.
You are correct. If you are pro-life you should start with getting women to understand what they are doing is killing a baby. Right now American women don’t see a pregnancy as a baby. That is the first step.
If abortion is murder, women who get them are accessories to murder.
End of discussion, as far as I see it.
And your reply had none. Well played.
The mask is coming off
The punishment would be for whoever performed the abortion, not just a “doctor.”
Who is punished right now in states that outlaw partial-birth abortion or late-term abortion if someone has one? Why would we expect a full ban to not result in similar punishment?
If you are not called a Cruzbot you probably aren’t doing it right.
They’re not accessories. They have primary responsibility. The doctor is the accessory.
It’s the same as if a woman hired a hit man to murder her child.
RE: What kind of punishment should we give women that kill their three year old child?
Usually life imprisonment if not death. Is that what we want to do?
If so, how full will jails be?
You go ted. LOL
I often wonder why people post crap like this. No source just some text. Heck for all we know you could have typed the entire thing on Notepad.
The Trumpers (or Cruzers or whomever the text is against) foam at the mouth and make outlandish statements about how horrible that candidate is, without even considering it could be complete lies.
I guess people here like to squabble.
Damn a Rushbot. A man who has no kids.
No Cruz is too cowardly to take a stand on this. It’s a way to have it both ways.
There's a 500+ post thread with a bunch of people trending in that direction. One wanted the needle for them.
Cruz is what today’s definition of ‘conservative’ looks like. He IS a conservative, right? That’s what how many threads and posts have been trying to hammer in?
Conservatives are pro-abortion, and don’t want to uphold the law unless that law protects the murder of innocents.
That’s not MY definition of conservative, but then, I’m not running for president on a conservative ticket, either.
I’m just saddened that so many on FR jump on board with those tactics
Umm, no they’re not. Not any moreso than cruzers. Trump may be but many of his support team here is frothing at the mouth psychos who go all-in for any little piece of crap anti-cruz sleaze they can sink their teeth into.
Yes, I agree, if the father’s participate in payment, they are party, if they push the female to this end and do not pay, they are also party.
However, the male impregnates the female, but is not involved in anyway with an abortion and/ or is opposed to it or does not know about it, then he is not party IMO.
And yeah I don’t think Cruz did any favors here.
If something is wrong, then everyone involved is wrong, and if something is made illegal, then those involved must face the consequence, otherwise there is no point in making the distinction.
