Trump says women may need punishment if abortion is banned http://bloom.bg/25wR9aJ

Yes. And the hysterical leftists trying to turn this into a "gaffe" will never vote for any pro-life candidate under any circumstances so why worry about what they think? If the GOP is pro-life you can forget about the pro-death vote - and why would we want to pander to that?
He’s finished. He just lost every woman that may have voted for him. All except for the far right - no abortion at any cost - woman. And that’s probably only about 10% of woman that vote. If that.
With comments like he’s been making, I am once again starting to think he’s a Hillary mole.
We have one of the most corrupt, likely criminal people DC has ever seen running for President and all we can do is “nominate” a bunch of losers. We can’t find one good, honorable person to run. It’s pathetic. And we all get what we deserve.
Spot on commentary, Trump is an ignorant charlatan on many issues. Abortion is one.
The prolife answer would be - no we shouldn’t punish women for having abortions. Unlike PP, we should be providing them with compassionate counseling after living thru such a horrific and life changing choice they will never forget about.
With the goal of restoration and a change of mind about ever making such a horrific choice again.
The woman is clearly the chief person responsible for the crime. She's the one arranging the abortion. Should she also be given a pass if she takes out a hit on her 3-year-old? Can anybody cite a single useful analogy of an automatic amnesty being granted to the principal in a premeditated homicide?
And this idea that women these days are "brainwashed" to think abortions are morally innocuous, and therefore should be held harmless is weak. Apart from being fantastically sexist and infantilizing, the argument, when taken to its logical extent, would mean that only women who were raised in secular households where they were taught that abortions are simply the removal of a non-sentient embryo should be given the amnesty, since they didn't realize they were killing an actual baby. Meanwhile, women who were raised in scripturalist Christian homes and were taught that abortion is murder would be the ones prosecuted for committing homicide. Does that make any sense?
If the woman is brainwashed, or pressured, or a victim, or insane, then that should be determined at her trial, same as in every other 1st degree murder case. Any pro-lifer who would disagree with this is engaging in some very contorted thinking.
First off, sorry for your loss. My aunt heads the local save-a-life program and she had a similar story to tell. God forgives sins and has her. I am sure you have had your own demons to battle. I can only imagine how hard it is to talk about.
That said, I (as a Cruz supporter) know that every day you punish yourself for what you perceived as the right thing to do at the time (swallowing a lie).
The problem is one doesn't take a position in politics that puts one at odds with both sides of the issue. How to put this... it is a bonehead move!
Of course, Trump has already switched positions again. He now says he didn't mean what he said and that he supports punishing abortion doctors instead.
IOWs another flip flop.
Punishment, Trump said, would come only if Congress outlaws abortion and then, only the provider should face punishment.
So if you are a Trump supporter, and support Trump's position that he should punish women that had abortions, then less than 24 hours later you will have to support him for his new position which mirror's Cruz's position.
Why does he need to go there?
He was set up—it was a liberal trap. He never should have honestly answered that question. These “women’s Issues’ Were designed to trip him up.
And we all know that isn’t happening.
“Why would any conservative have a problem with this?”
The Trump haters, who allow zero tolerance with Donald will be all over this.
Says the guy who was making pronouncements about Lewandowski yesterday, yet didnt know what the charge was.
And was corrected.
And never acknowledged the mistake.
Incredible! Trump continues to flush out the real conservative pretenders in DC, State Capitols and on Free Republic.
Please get ahold of yourself. You poked into a completely different conversation, and I was referring to when someone a few months shy of their 17th birthday gets coerced by a 18 or 19 year old. There’s a lot of false rape allegations that float around, and I wouldn’t want to see someone put in jail as a rapist when it was consensual or someone lied about birth control or whatever. We’re talking real world situations.
“Is this talk about abortion being murder simply hot air?
Exactly. Getting ready for the arrival of the Hypocrisy Brigade!”
Excellent prediction!
I understand the word perfectly and agree that abortion is morally wrong. But I also want to know how “accomplices” would be prosecuted since having an abortion is seldom a decision a woman/girl makes all on her own?
I just saw the Matthews interview with Trump regarding the abortion thing. I was gone all day yesterday and all I heard were comments about it, and not the interview itself. I thought Trump did a great job deflecting Matthews, and he put Matthews on the defensive regarding his Catholic faith. I have also been hearing that Trump “walked back” what he said. Is this true? Is there a real interview about his walking it back, or is that just more commentary coming from other sources? thanks.
I don’t know that I would have acknowledged a mistake about assault and battery since the media was running them together in their titles and articles, but I do know my FReeper account went down not long after I posted an article yesterday, and I didn’t have access again until very late yesterday. Still don’t know what caused that.
In any case, I did check some online legal site and they said that many combine ‘assault and battery’ in their speech but they are separate in Florida. Interestingly, assault was verbal threat. I never would have guessed that.
“Im not upset over Trump making a conservative comment.
Im upset at all the people attacking him because he dared to be politically incorrect!
Jeez.”
Again, their anti Trump responses on this issue go hand in hand with their responses since Donald went after the illegals.
We were told for at least 50 years “it’s a bunch of cells up to this point.”
A friend of mine almost died from an ectopic pregnancy. I know medical technology always advances and things are much different now.
We need a culture of life to counteract, and the strongest pro-life women I know are ones who fell for the snake oil. As women, we have to take responsibility to teach young women what they will go through for the rest of their lives.
At what point do the men take responsibility for their half of the equation?
Who else makes the decision??? If the woman decides to not have the abortion, then it doesn’t happen...If she decides to have it, it does...
No matter what anyone else says, it is her decision...No one else can have the abortion for her...
So the man who impregnated her brings the woman to the appointment and pays for the abortion has no culpability?
“Oh, I just did the deed, agreed to it, drove her there, paid for it — BUT I’M INNOCENT!”
