Donald Trump says he is considering legal action in response to a recent battery charge against campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
"Frankly, this is not a claim that should have been made," Trump told ABC News' David Muir on "Good Morning America" this morning.
Lewandowski was arrested on Tuesday morning for allegedly grabbing former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields following a Trump event earlier this month. Trump dismissed the incident as "very minor," saying that "practically nothing happened."
"I'm sure there will be a counter-claim coming down the line," Trump added. "Should I file charges against her because she touched my arm as well?"

Thanks for that info.
I assume the Secret Service people are exempt because they couldn’t protect properly without occasional touching.
.
It would seem so, although technically they still have to cause. Although thats rarely enforce from what I’ve seen.
So Im going to assume you cannot show I was lying. You may disagree with the charges but I didn’t invent them. Its pretty stupid of the Trump campaign to allow this issue to escalate so out of control.
To bad you don’t have the stones to apologize.
I thought you knew, The Donald does nothing wrong....EVER! /s
You could, but you'd lose because of the age-old doctrine of implied consent. People impliedly consent to a reasonable degree of touching by entering crowds, etc. (What is "reasonable" is up to a jury, if the case gets that far.) Plainly the reporter did not consent to a yank on her arm, if (it's disputed) that occurred.
Full disclosure: in my opinion, Lewandowski did yank her arm and lie about it, and technically that's misdemeanor battery, but I would never prosecute such a playground level offense even if the evidence were clearer.
Wow talk about doubling down and making a fool of yourself Johnnie.
Good job there sport.
The public humiliation of eating that much crow has gotta hurt. Try some hot sauce.
You still haven’t shown that anything I said was a lie. Cmon Johnnie.
Why do you lie? Trump didn’t sue Coking.
you can see on the tape the entire encounter, her body language, her balance, and that no “yank” occurred, at least by CL. Brushing past her in 2 seconds was so casual he didn’t even connect to the fact it had occurred
Then you have nothing to worry about.
So...you’re going to try to push the idea he didn’t take Vera to court through Atlantic City officials to force her to sell her house?
You are the one pushing ideas [in the case, a lie].* I’ll stick with facts. Trump offered Coking money for her house. He did not, and could not by law, sue her.
You’re both right. Atlantic City, not Trump himself, sued Coking in eminent domain, contending that its pre-suit offer of $251k was reasonable compensation. (Coking wanted more, noting that Bob Guccioni of Penthouse fame had offered her $1M years earlier.)
But the city was doing so effectively at Trump’s behest so that he could build Trump Plaza. If there were no push to get Trump Plaza built, there’d’ve been no lawsuit. The judge ended up ruling — pre-Kelo, of course — that eminent domain was unavailable because a casino is not a “public use” like a military base or a public road.
‘But the city was doing so effectively at Trumps behest so that he could build Trump Plaza.’
Link?
They’re not bribes dummy...stop making stuff up.
Trump said they were bribes. Of course he didn’t use the word but he said he had paid the politicians.
He paid a politician money to get what he wanted. What else do you call that.
The other thing too many are forgetting is this:
Do you or don’t they want the wall built, do you or don’t they want a check on illegal immigration, do you or don’t they want to get serious about terrorism within our borders, do you or don’t you want the hemorrhage of our jobs and infrastructures to continue into totalitarian third world nations who are our enemies, do you or don’t you want continued massive debt, higher taxes, increased regulation, and escalating unemployment, do you or don’t you want business as usual in Washington, do you or don’t you want the elites running the party and doing as they please in congress with no accountability?
It appears to me that Donald Trump is the ONLY candidate left who wants to do stop things. You must must must MUST accept the fact that Ted Cruz has accepted the money and the endorsement of the Washington cartel, and his purpose now (and perhaps always was, consider that perhaps that this old businessman, Mr. Trump, has excellent people instincts and saw Ted for what he was some time ago) to deliver/ensure control of the party back into the hands of the country club/establishment progressive globalist elitists.
So please climb out of this swamp of misdirection, lies, and slander, and focus on the big picture.
That being said, IF you want a brokered convention, IF you like the Republican party as it is, IF you would like to see Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, or even Hillary Clinton as president, then by all means vote for Cruz. But understand what you are doing. It is okay perfectly okay for Republicans to feel this way, lots of Republicans like the GOP exactly as it is, and do not want anything changed.
But you want the changes I mentioned above, your only realistic choice now is Donald Trump, warts and all. Maybe he can change things, maybe he cannot, maybe things are too far gone. But in any case, he will not be president forever. You can vote for a finishing school graduate the next time around if you like, if our republic still stands.
But this week’s sewer swim is not important, just leave it, don’t give another moment’s thought to Melania Trump’s modeling career, Cruz’ possible adultery, whether or not a reporter’s arm was grabbed (after, she is not dead or crippled — just believe in the presumption of innocence and let it go to trial where it will be settled once and for all.) Just focus on the very serious, life and death of this nation, issues we are facing. Please, don’t let the media/establishment control you or your vote with this nonsense!
You can read the broader story and follow the links in Coking’s Wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vera_Coking
On the issue you ask about, Wiki’s source is this 1999 article by a law professor in a publication devoted to gam(bl)ing law topics: www.bjrnet.com/member/gatl/index.cgi?read=8 That says that the condemnation actions (undertaken “at the urging of Trump”) were actually by “the state Casino Reinvestment Development Authority,” not by Atlantic City as I stated earlier.
