Corey Lewandowski case: Is there a chance he won’t be prosecuted? (WP Admits it's bogus)

“I’ve never seen someone get a year in jail for something like this, realistically it never happens,”

“If the gentlemen winds up looking at a year in jail, that certainly will be a sign this case was deeply politicized.”

the half-dozen Florida lawyers interviewed by The Post agreed that it seems unlikely, if the case were to be heard by a jury, that Trump’s campaign manager would be convicted.

“But the reality is this is not a scenario where anybody in their right mind would ever entertain charging someone with a crime.”

Kaplan compared the incident to a bouncer in a nightclub grabbing someone who dances too close to the stage and pushing them backward. Another lawyer likened it to a ticket collector at a concert venue or sports arena grabbing the arm of someone who attempted to walk past without first showing a ticket. A third Florida-based lawyer, noting Trump’s celebrity status and the fact that the incident occurred at an event where Trump was being approached not only by reporters but also by autograph seekers, compared it to the personal assistant of a celebrity grabbing a fan or paparazzi member who got too close.

In each of those cases, the lawyers said, if a complaint was filed by the person touched, there would likely be probable cause for battery charges, but it would be unlikely that a jury would conclude the actions were unreasonable in the context of the specific situation.

“The prosecutors would have to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt that … his actions were unreasonable for someone charged with helping with the security of a presidential candidate.”

“I don’t see that,” he added. “The prosecutors, if they move forward, have a pretty uphill battle.”

How was he to know she was not a nut trying to attack Donald Trump?

These charges will likely have to be dropped. The video is pretty clear. Most DA’s won’t go to trial unless they are sure of a win.

"How was he to know she was not a nut trying to attack Donald Trump?"

Apparently, she is. Just not physically.

Most DA’s won’t go to trial unless they are sure of a win.

Or unless they're sure that taking a particular case to trial will boost their reelection chances (as with Mike Nifong).

Or unless other considerations embolden them (as with Ronnie Earle).

All it’s gonna take is one video of Hillary’s guards grabbing somebody by the arm, and this thing goes away.

My advice to Corey is demand a jury trial. That way the DA has to fish or cut bait.

There is less to bring up against Corey Lewandowski, than even the flimsy evidence that was brought up against Scooter Libby. If ever there were a wrongful conviction, that certainly applied in that case, but Scooter never had the resources to resist the onslaught.

Here is proof Michelle Fields is a LIAR.

Fields Statement:

"Campaign managers aren’t supposed to try to forcefully throw reporters to the ground, no matter the circumstance. But what made this especially jarring is that there was no hint Trump was done taking questions. No one was pushing him to get away. He seemed to have been happily answering queries from my fellow reporters just a moment before."

Terris, the reporter who is 'backing her up' said this:

"As security parted the masses to give him passage out of the chandelier-lit ballroom, Michelle Fields, a young reporter for Trump-friendly Breitbart News, pressed forward to ask the GOP front-runner a question. I watched as a man with short-cropped hair and a suit grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the way. He was Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 41-year-old campaign manager."

Yes, but that is against the state and any payoff will be from the taxpayers. Fields needs to be targeted and made to pay. She has a history of complaints and publicity seeking. She needs to have her entire life and that of her BF put under the microscope. PIs and forensics types with sufficient funding should be able to turn up all sorts of information.

This will likely never go to trial. The DA does not want to get egg on his face.

Image is everything. All things like this start out with huge negative publicity, that everyone remembers. When the retraction or apology occurs weeks later, it is always on page 6 of the NYT and no one remembers.

That is the pattern with all the bogus rape cases. Stll, although innocent, lives of the falsely accused are negatively affected.

Of particular interest in the article is this:

But the police department’s issuing charges does not necessarily mean that the state attorney will decide to move forward with full prosecution. And a spokesman for the state prosecutor’s office said Tuesday night that it has yet to decide how to handle this case.
