Donald Trump attacked Wisconsin governor Scott Walker for failing to raise taxes in order to properly fund schools and roads on Tuesday, in a startling new break from rightwing orthodoxy from the Republican frontrunner.
The comments came after Walker endorsed Trumps rival, Texas senator, Ted Cruz, in the GOP race.
Walker became a conservative hero for his efforts to crush public sector unions and cut government spending in the Democratic-leaning state in Wisconsin, something that led to an attempted recall of the Wisconsin governor in 2012 and became a national cause célèbre. But, in a radio interview with talkshow host Michael Koolidge on Tuesday, Trump bashed walker's administration.
Theres a $2.2bn deficit and the schools were going begging and everything was going begging because he didnt want to raise taxes cause he was going to run for president, said Trump. So instead of raising taxes, he cut back on schools, he cut back on highways, he cut back on a lot of things.

States have to balance their budgets. He spent too much and therefore had a huge deficit and needs to raise taxes and cut spending to clear that monster deficit.
There’s no defense or whining here. All I’m saying is that Trump is already running a national campaign and he’s simply playing smart politics by getting Dem voters to cross over.
By lying about Walker’s record?
I hear alot of this from Trumpers on how he’s going to get all these Democrats to vote for him. Well, he’s certainly adopting alot of their talking points whether it’s 9/11, WMDs in Iraq, healthcare..
Which tells me, if elected, he’ll govern closer to the left
But like I said, Trump was never a check-the-box conservative to begin with anyway. As long as he's positioned on key issues such as Islam, trade, immigration, and the 2nd Amendment, I have no issue with him going after Dem voters and exposing Walker's soft underbelly of support.
Look at what Deal just did in GA. Caving to the homonazis. Haley in SC over the Confederate flag. Kasich in OH expanding Obamacare. Scott in FL doing the same. These Governors had their chance to step up but continued to push the GOPe agenda. That lack of leadership is now emboldening leftist groups and activists. I guarantee you most of these Governors are not going to win re-election.
I think Trump could if he would.
Glad to see Cruz supporters with a pulse on FR. Was starting to get worried....
Hey. Politics is politics.
Walker started it anyway back in June. Don't start 'nuthin', won't be nuthin'!
Trump is wrong on this one. I think he got bad info — maybe even on purpose — I wouldn’t put anything past the Hillary supporting GOPe.
Everyone who has been attacked by Trump attacked him first. Trump merely gave a speech announcing his entry into the race and everyone crapped bricks.
Thats Trumps lying defense for everything.
Please, get real.
He still maintains that Cruz attack his wife first which is a blatant lie and something he cannot prove.
Cruz PAC did and it was addressed on dozens of threads.
What you don’t seem to understand is if he gets elected, NOTHING HE TOLD YOU MAY OCCUR. NOTHING. And he has no problem with that. That would take someone who believe that lying is immoral and bad. He is not that person. Pathological liars don’t see lying as a bad thing. To them it is as normal and natural as breathing.
Property taxes are plenty high in WI, and are only coming down in recent years.
Hey pal, I've been lied to by Republicans since 1932, who promised to reign in the federal government. Instead, they cut deals with Democrats and then beat their chests in the elections bragging about how much less this or that unconstitutional program is now costing taxpayers thanks to them.
So excuse me if I've decided to go on a bender and support the one candidate who's running on a middle finger platform.
“Walker is a stooge of the GOPe.
I cannot believe all of the GOPe defending going on around here.”
It’s not “GOPe” to point out Trump’s lies. Walker has been a godsend for that state.
He is not a conservative in any meaningful sense of the word.
A better description: New York City liberal.
Since when does the GOPe care about lies?
Trump is wrong on this.
He’s better: He’s a nationalist.
Good list of bad things. Justifies a lot of outrage from all of us.
However, it does not justify a conservative supporting Trump.
One-track there, eh?
Try to follow the subject matter of the thread. You seem.... behind.
Trump already burned that bridge. How could "President" Trump nominate Cruz for SC after publically going on and on and on about what a liar Cruz is? Who in either party would want such a liar sitting on the bench? Trump burned the wrong bridge.
