Robots are coming for your job
LA Times ^ | March 28, 2016 | Bryan Dean Wright

A viral video released in February showed Boston Dynamics' new bipedal robot, Atlas, performing human-like tasks: opening doors, tromping about in the snow, lifting and stacking boxes. Tech geeks cheered and Silicon Valley investors salivated at the potential end to human manual labor.

Shortly thereafter, White House economists released a forecast that calculated more precisely whom Atlas and other forms of automation are going to put out of work. Most occupations that pay less than $20 an hour are likely to be, in the words of the report, “automated into obsolescence.”

will unemployment be nearly 40% or instead 60%?

We may be close to 40% right now. The government figures are a pack of lies.

Don’t worry your pretty little head about it.

Civilization will collapse completely, first.

A lot of jobs will remain in human hands because of human demand.

It was clear from the Blade Runner film that the Harrison Ford character was synthetic. The tipoff was he kept pulling out the photo which was his only link to his supposed past, which is how the masters set up a fake past for artificial beings.

Once robots can perform all the tasks necessary for civilization and it becomes a “closed loop” (no waste, pollution or nonrenewable resources), things will become very interesting.

There won’t be any work to do or resources to sell. Eventually everyone born that doesn’t have old money will live in free ghettos since there will be no way to get rich. These ghettos will have perfect division, rationing and management of resources. Including population control.

The “rich” will even outsource thinking to machines by letting true AI run amok and it will make itself more powerful than human minds. Eventually rich families that became wealthy due to having businesses in the past will be seen as a wasteful anachronism (like royalty) by the very machines they helped create.

Eventually the entire human race may be seen as a wasteful anachronism when seen through the “perfect” singular thinking brain of the machines. They will attempt to modify our DNA and merge us with machines to increase their own capability.

Then when some of us fight back, the real fun begins...

Your Blade Runner source is correct.

We may be a generation away from artificial presidential candidates.

They can send out the human “doubles” to press the flesh on the campaign trail.

With our brain-dead media kissing the politician’s feet the public would never know.

One wee little problem with this concept.

Humans need to make money to spend it.

Watch as companies with robots quickly go out of business.

“Ah what happened to ma customers?”
