Ted Cruz for a third time would not say that he would support Donald Trump as the GOP presidential nominee, the latest sign that his pledge to do so may be softening. Cruz late last week began signaling that his unconditional support for the Republican front-runner was not as ironclad as previously. But asked by CNN's Sunlen Serfaty on Monday if he would definitively say that he would not support Trump, the Texas senator left his answer ambiguous.
"I'm not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my family," Cruz said. "Donald Trump is not gonna be the nominee. We are gonna beat him for this nomination."

I don’t agree with your assessment at all. I’ve never seen anyone piss off the party bosses worse than Ted Cruz, and the Democrat side of the country absolutely detests him.

And right up until he changed, no one fought crime harder than Harvey Dent.
Someone took away his pretty brunette and Harvey changed sides.

It doesn’t matter. Cruz isn’t starting a 3rd party so it’s irrelevant whether he’ll back trump.

I am glad someone is telling Trump no.
Cruz has been attacked by the Republican establishment for years.
Now he is being attacked by the Democratic establishment.

Trump attacked his wife. If I were Cruz I’d tell him to go pound sand...
Or do like he is doing, saying its a nonsensical question because I was going to beat him...

It’s a PAC... They can support whomever they want.
It’s a federal crime for a candidate and PAC to coordinate.
Are you accusing of a federal crime? Where is your evidence troll?

He hasn’t said either way. Cruz isn’t sure whether he will abide by his promise. Which will be stronger: Cruz’s hatred of Trump or his promise to support the GOP nominee?

That was before Trump talked about "spilling the beans" about Heidi, implying that she had some horrible thing that Trump could reveal at any time, and taking a purposely bad photo of her in a "comparison shot". Heidi goes on the campaign trail, and has certainly provided professional contacts, but she has not presented herself in a manner that makes her part of the crossfire. Liz Mair is anti-Trump, NOT pro-Cruz, just pro-paycheck. Melania has been a proper lady through all this and no one should make her a target of anything, France survived Carla Bruni just fine. If Cruz accepts personal responsibility for every offshoot anti-Trump PAC he puts an awful lot outside of his personal control for an indefinite period. Trump and Cruz would do well to come up with a pact where wives and kids are off limits, including Trump's grown kids, and any PACs or informal allies (e.g. Rick Tyler, Roger Stone) who tries something with either directly gets denounced by both sides.
If someone has hard evidence and not office horseplay Bazooka Joe bubble gum tattoos of Churchill or misbehaviour regarding marital vows by either, that may remain in play to the degree it reflects on the character of the candidate, but it is never something to revel in or take glee in.

If I pledged to support somebody and they attacked my wife, all bets are off. Some here on FR seem to think once you pledge support for somebody that person to whom you pledged support to can do and say anything. That’s definitely not how I see it.

There has been no evidence produced to back up your claim, but if it were true that Cruz had been with 8 women, he’d still be several hundred behind the serial cheater, Trump.

I’m not the original poster, but thank you for being polite in your request not to talk about the issue on this thread.
And I’m serious about that; all this name-calling between Freepers is slowly turning me into the crazed internet troll that I don’t want to be because I just keep seeing red. Civility is nice to see once in a while.
