When judges act like whores, they can hardly expect to be treated like nuns.

Dr. Sowell nailed it!

*PING*
Thomas Sowell

First of all, the "advice and consent" provision of the Constitution is a restriction on the President's power, not an imposition of a duty on the Senate.(em/mine)

Great article. This bears repeating:

the "advice and consent" provision of the Constitution is a restriction on the President's power, not an imposition of a duty on the Senate

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Dr. Sowell call a supreme court justice a “whore,” before.

Not saying he isn’t one; just saying it seems pretty strong for him.

Let’s be honest. Judges are politicians. They belong to political parties. Our Founders weren’t prescient enough to envision this two-party system we have, a system in which justice, constitution, tradition, simply are irrelevant.

If you put a liberal question to liberal judges, they will approve the liberal position and justify it with a lot of fluff.

We seriously need to term limit judges, and I mean short terms. One senatorial length term of 6 years at each level of the federal judiciary. After that they go back to chasing ambulances.

Don’t listen to Sowell; he’s a Cruz supporter.

Chief Justice Roberts himself practically repealed the 10th Amendment's limitation on federal power when he wrote the decision that the government could order us all to buy ObamaCare insurance policies. When judges act like whores, they can hardly expect to be treated like nuns.

Sowell is a national treasure. It's a tragedy that, when this octogenarian checks out, the President can't nominate, and the Senate can't confirm, his actual (make that real) replacement.

Can’t say they are all inclusive, just 1 party with different roles BUT

When the Florida chad thing was going on and ‘we’ were waiting the answer of whether algore or W would assume the head of the biparty, I had figured that if algore would have been declared the victor, both sides of the aisle would just switch notes and carry on without missing a beat.

I have a feeling in my gut that if Trump gets screwed and Bernie keeps getting screwed, THEY will run on an independent ticket.

Now that would be a ‘mess’ and also a fun thing to observe.

Of course if Trump-Bernie would win it there would have to be a steel cage death match to determine who sits in the ‘seat’ But can just see the Liberal and GOPe heads im/exploding.....

Ahh..

Welcome to the world you created, Democrats. If you hadn’t invested judges with powers they were never intended to have, making them all-powerful philosopher God-Kings imposing your world view on the country, legislating from the bench and making up laws as you go, a Supreme Court nomination might not be as dire a crisis as it now is.
