This is a very interesting passage from that article:
Novelists will sometimes mention some little incident that doesnt really move the story line, but which nonetheless matters. The little incident that sticks in my mind is the story that she once ran out of the house and was found on the side of the highway by the police, who thought her suicidal. What sticks in my mind is that Ted hadnt followed her.
From that story I have taken a picture of a mind utterly concentrated in self and entirely devoid of empathy. Which seems to be how his colleagues have found him, everywhere he went.
That doesn't sound like a marriage between two people who love each other.

That’s been haunting me too. I think very highly of Heidi Cruz, and I feel sceptical about all of the ‘globalist’ rumors. Whoever upset her has a thick black mark on his/her forehead.
‘What sticks in my mind is that Ted hadn’t followed her.’
Not having read the article, should there be a reasonable expectation that Cruz would be aware enough of her distress/location?

Of note also is whom is lacking in supporting Cruz’s character in this; His wife, Kids and people who have endorsed him are not defending his character.

It had crossed my mind that if Heidi had caught Ted having an affair, or strongly suspected he had, it would explain why she was so depressed and found sitting by the side of the highway.

If my husband followed me when I was that upset he’d be long dead. Couples handle things differently. I can’t tell you how much I HATE the fact that Freepers kerp bringing this incident up. It’s unkind, insensitive and boorish and doesn’t say much about conservatives.
