New Hampshire man linked to Bundy standoff to face trial in Nevada
Reuters ^ | 3-24-2016 | Ted Siefer

A U.S. judge has approved the extradition of a New Hampshire man to Nevada, where he is to face trial on charges that he helped organize a high-profile armed standoff with federal agents at the ranch of Cliven Bundy in 2014.

The transfer of Jerry DeLemus, 61, to Nevada may proceed since no order was received from the U.S. District Court in Nevada staying the transfer, according to a ruling issued late on Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Andrea Johnstone. No date has been set for the extradition.

DeLemus is a well-known conservative activist who co-chairs the New Hampshire Veterans for Trump coalition organized by the presidential campaign of Republican businessman Donald Trump. Earlier this month, he was named an alternate delegate for Trump at the Republican nominating convention in July.

It continues...

Mark Sisti, DeLemus' lawyer, said on Thursday that he would challenge the detention order once his client is transferred to Nevada, on the grounds that he poses no danger or flight risk.

"He has absolutely no history of violence," Sisti said. "In fact, he is known in the community know as a mediator, a peacekeeper, someone you go to when you have a problem."

U.S. prosecutors do not say DeLemus participated in the threatened assault on federal agents at the Bundy ranch on April 12, 2014, but that afterward he served as a "gunman and mid-level organizer who joined in a conspiracy to commit an unprecedented and extremely violent and massive armed assault on federal law enforcement officers," according to court papers.

DeLemus' wife is a Republican state representative, and several Republican state legislators testified in support of granting him bail at a hearing earlier this month.

This story is being buried and not covered by the media. The Headline should read Trump supporter and Spouse of Elected Rep held without Bail and Transferred to Nevada or something that actually tells people what is in the last paragraph. If he were a Democrat the news would be all over this story.

Ping! Interesting way for the Justice dept to have an impact on the election. Notice this article says Jerry DeLemus was named an alternate Delegate for Trump.

BLM has NO LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY
so their ARMED presence was a violation of the law as much as the armed individuals there.

there is a LARGER UNDERLYING ISSUE HERE...
THE LOCAL SHERIFF IS THE ONLY Constitutionally authorized law enforececment authority in this case.....

another iss ue is WHY DOES THE FEDERAL govt ahve ANY AUTHORITY on the use fo this and.
when a territory becomes a state the land it has reverts to the STATE.... with limited exceptions.
The Constitution has not been followed and the Feds own 80% of the land in the USA.... WHY???

sell it and pay off the 21 trillion debt....

This case will go all the awy to the supreme court... wait and see....
THERE ARE MAJOR CONSTITUTIONAL ISSUES HERE...

The same was said about Robert LaVoy Finicum before the government shot him in the back 3 times.

You are correct. There is much more to this story than meets the eye.

The Federal Government is trying to claim there was 6 million dollars worth of damage. There will be a press conference on the 29th to dispute this.

via Susan DeLemus...
It’s 7:55 AM on Friday, March 25th 2016. I just got the call I’ve been expecting from Captain Chris Brackett at the Strafford County Corrections Facility in Dover, NH. Jerry has been taken by bus and is on his way to NY where he will be held until he is moved to Nevada. The Captain couldn’t tell me if Jerry will be flying or being bussed out. What I have been told by a lawyer is that he will be going to the
Nevada Southern Detention Center
2190 E. Mesquite Ave.
Pahrump, NV 89060

It’s a medium security prison. After checking out the website it appears that he will only be allowed one visit per week for one hour. The visits are “televised”. The facility in Strafford County allowed us to visit as often as we wanted and Jerry could talk on the phone all the time.

At this time we have no idea when we will get to see each other again, never mind touch. My heart is breaking and my mind is racing. I just wanted to let you all know what’s happening. I will keep you posted as I find out more. Please keep us in your prayers, we are going to need all the help we can get.
Yours truly,
Sue D

This has gone way too far on the part of a couple of federally employed yahoo cowboys that have exceeded a reasonable person’s judgment and gone off on a tirade. They will be dealt with harshly on their performance reports once the pendulum has completed its swing back to the other side.

With a sensible President in the Oval Office, this whole matter would have been straightened out as Donald Trump says, with a single phone call.

Arresting Jerry DeLemus for merely expressing an opinion that the US government and BLM were heavy handed & anti-rancher over western land use was an overreach of prosecutorial power.

Now the prosecution is taking him out of the area he lives, to another state 100s of miles away from family & friends to try him. This removal is unfair and done to place him in an area where the jury will be hostile to his plea for justice.

The heavy hand of the government is falling on dissenters.
The gears of government grind slowly but exceedingly fine.
Why not, time is on the side of the government bureaucracy which never has to answer to We The People.

"Arresting Jerry DeLemus for merely expressing an opinion"

The key sentence in the article: "....afterwards he(Delemus) served as a gunman and midlevel organizer who joined in a conspiracy"

This is all on videotape on youtube. In the KLAS video interview of Delemus and Booda, Delemus had 100 men under his command and was in charge of the perimeter ouside the camp. He was the man that put the snipers on the hilltops and stopped cars travelling down the road.

In the video shot after Ryan Payne kicked the Oathkeepers out, Payne is flanked by Delemus and Booda and talks about discussing it with Delemus and Booda

All this implies that Delemus was at least "mid-level" in the military command structure. "Over a 100 men" is a Company Commander who could be ranked as low as a Captain but likely a Major, and possibly a Lt Col.

That's the problem for all of them. They all wanted to get on the camera a talk about being a big shot, and that is evidence the FBI will use against them

Wow!

Well, it's fortunate that the federal agents didn't commit assault themselves by pointing weapons at these violent, dangerous thugs.

They didn't, did they?

Or is it OK for the King's Men to point weapons at the peasants?

That's the narrative that is promoted, but the video evidence shows the militia drawing down on the Clark County Sheriff's officers, including the deputy sheriff.

The video evidence also shows that the first thing the FBI did when they entered the case was to interview all of those sheriff dept officers. It is entirely likely that the sheriff's dept and the BLM were shooting video that day, just like the Oregon police and/or FBI were shooting video the day Finicum was shoot twice with the AR 15 and once with the AR 10. There are numerous snippets of video on Youtube showing Ryan Payne surrendering and being taken into custody before Finicum drove off. Somebody took those videos

Did law enforcement point its weapons at the Bundy contingent, or not? And it matters WHEN, also.

Law enforcement doesn't even want to go there.

So, all this Oregon video.

What, did all the audio from those multiple videos roll under the desk and get lost? ROFL!

When people leave out facts, they do it for a reason. One of the biggest reasons FR has been vilified over the years is because exposition of the facts makes many people, including powerful people, uncomfortable.

I’m sure there was a lot of damage done. The BLM totally destroyed the water system for that grazing area and threw it into a dump truck. They then chased and killed about 100 head of cattle including calves.

I doubt that you read the same news sources that I do, but the prosecutors, after looking at the videos, and reading the reports, declined to prosecute the state police officers that shot Finicum.
