With the defamation laws for public figures, ruz as a sharp lawyer knows he has no chance. A defamation suit in any case would run past the General Election...

But if he went through the motions, voters would believe him more.

Hobson's choice.

Having a libel suit keeps it in the news; and opens up discovery.

There may be cans of worms as well as beans to be spilled.
