Status unchanged...I am still voting for Trump because as you can see from my tagline, I believe Trump is stronger on National Sovereignty.
After getting his resume into shape, son has been having friends send his resume to various connections within tech companies. So he is primarily networking off of private contacts at this time. He has had several interviews, but nothing concrete yet. One company this week had 2 interviews, so I am optimistic. Well as much as one can be.
He did mention that one HR person’s jaw dropped when they saw his previous salary...so companies don’t seem to want to pay him equivalent salary==he may have to accept that...It has been a month. Hopefully things will look up soon. Fortunately, he heeded the advice of mentors and has saved at least a year’s salary has no debt, and lives very cheaply, so he can be patient and wait for what he considers the right position. He is planning to accompany his dad and sister up to Alaska for a couple weeks in April/May, so that is something positive for him to look forward to.
As a side note, I took a train into Chicago last week—the last express train (express trains are used by business travelers as they don’t stop often). My friend commented that they felt like they were in India as the vast majority of the riders were foreign likely Indian—I told them “Look at the H-1B Visa program up close and personal.”
