I tend to think the story is true because the NI would not dare to run it if it was false. They will be sued out of existence. (Rightfully so).
I also don’t expect much out of Politicians.
I really hope the story is false, for the country, Ted and his family.

Trump made sure he had everybody tell him how Anti-First-Amendment it would be to make it easier to hold the press accountable for lies...
Not that he has to worry about it too much though, because he’s the only one with enough money to bankrupt people trying to defend against his lawsuits. You think Amanda Carpenter and Katrina (what’s her name?) have the money for those lawsuits? Or Cruz, while he’s having to campaign?
And do notice that NE didn’t name names. Nobody can sue because they never made any actual claims. They gave speculation and posted blurred-out photos. Innuendo. That’s what it is. A “suggestion”, a rumor. They made sure they couldn’t be sued, and that also says something.
