Trump posted a statement on Friday responding to the Cruz accusation:
I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it.
Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence. Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.
I look forward to spending the week in Wisconsin, winning the Republican nomination and ultimately the Presidency in order to Make America Great Again.

Cruz denied accusations of marital infidelity as “garbage” and accused Trump of enlisting “his friends at the National Enquirer and his political henchmen to do his bidding” in a statement issued Friday. Cruz also inferred nefarious timing of the National Enquirer story in a Friday press conference.

Cruz has been tarnished so he tries to use the event to smear Trump, deflect attention away from himself.
So? Trump has a lot of friends, unlike Cruz. The chances of Trump knowing the owner of any major publication is pretty high. I guess if the story ends up being true, Cruz has more friends than I suspected.

Hard to believe that just 24 hrs ago Trump supporters were crying about Cruz not denouncing anti-Trump ad from an independent PAC.
If nothing else this election cycle is revealing exactly who the paid GOPe agents are on the FR.

In one article today there was a paragraph stating the NE had looked at their sources and the article and approved it for publication. With the recent law suit they would be foolish to print a story without a strong foundation
Since no actual pictures were used just ouines of heads they could have substituted others to protect those who have come forward
Sorry, Ted. Calling Trump names, and citing imaginary “henchmen” won’t get it done. If the story isn’t true, you have a whiz-bang, foolproof way to prove it. Sue National Enquirer for at least $500 Million.
By printing these accusations, NE have stuck their neck out so far, that the smartest attorney to ever come out of Harvard can easily sue them out of existence.
