How do you know the Cruz campaign didn’t believe that to be true because they had been told it by Carson’s NH campaign staff which had just a day earlier quit the Carson campaign amiably and joined the Cruz team because they didn’t want to waste their time on Carson’s non-campaign? My bet is that they joined Cruz’s team because Carson had told them he was going to announce the end of his campaign on Wednesday after first seeing how he did in IA.

There was a tweet by somebody said to be with the Cruz campaign (though his own twitter page said he wasn’t with any campaign) saying that Carson’s NH campaign had confirmed that he was stepping down, which fit with what Carson’s campaign had told CNN and with the fact that no campaign events were scheduled for either NH or SC and Carson had told Hannity that if he didn’t WIN those states he would step down.

And then Carson changed his mind about announcing on Wednesday because he was angry and saw a chance to slam Cruz and either rise himself or give himself a chance to be in the Trump cabinet.

The Cruz team was guilty of not allowing Carson to make his own announcement to the public, rather than having the announcement be revealed early by others who revealed what he had told his NH team.

But any reporter who has used the phrase “according to sources close to the investigation...” has done exactly the same thing. (And everybody on this board who has passed on a story that eventually turns out to be untrue has too.) When you and everybody else start saying that those people (and yourselves) are “liars” if the investigation changes its mind, then I’ll believe there’s not a very convenient double standard at play here.

I don’t have a candidate.

That's actually the biggest lie of them all.
