To briefly summarize: A small organization of citizens with the sole purpose of stopping Donald Trump paid for online ads that used a publicly available photograph of Trump's wife to attack him. Trump responded by incorrectly attributing the ads to Cruz and then attacking Cruz's wife, a message that reached an exponentially larger number of people than the targeted Facebook ads. Cruz defended his wife, defended Trump's wife, and denounced the original ad, with which he had nothing to do. Trump responded to this by tweeting out to his millions of followers an unflattering photo of Cruz's wife. And Trump supporters have either tacitly approved of Trump's attack or ignored it.
The whole episode was the equivalent of a Red Sox fan heckling a Yankees pitcher from the stands and the pitcher in turn throwing a fastball right into the Red Sox batter's face. There's no equivalence here. There's no "Trump-Cruz feud" over each other's wives. The anti-Trump super PAC may have "started" the fight, but the responsibility for escalating the attacks to beyond the bounds of decency falls, as it often has in this election, on Trump and Trump alone.

I am a Bruce Campbell fan as well but I disagree with you on Trump's mannerisms. Here is a neutral observation of what Trump is doing:

What an asinine title. Apparently it’s fine for Cruz to take the first shot, but not permissible to respond to it. If Trump stands up for his family, he’s “escalating”?
The Bible says this is how it will be in end times. Evil things will be considered good, and vice versa.
“Donald needs to learn when to let things go.”
Cruz needs to learn when to let things go.
“Trump needs to take the high road.”
You mean roll over and play dead as Romney and Bush 43 did when they were attacked? I don’t think so. We’re dealing with an alpha male here and, to quote Trump, “It’s not gonna happen!”
“do something and blame someone else. I see Cruz doing this”
My personal favorite: “Mitch McConnell told me. I believed Mitch McConnell. That’s why I voted for the bill.”
Yeah. Anyone who believes Mitch McConnell has issues.
Cruzites think that Donald Trump has the magic power to control the National Enquirer...yet they believe that a PAC run by Washington insiders who know all the Washington insiders in the Cruz campaign is completely independent...right...
After all that Cruz has done, you still call him “evangelical”? Cults are not evangelical and true evangelicals can spot a phony a mile away. That’s why he’s not getting their votes.
Ah, I've asked a similar question of believers: "If you were brought up on charges of being a Christian, would your case be thrown out for lack of evidence?"
In a way, it sounds like that's the point you are making (unless you know he's in a cult I didn't know about. Are you invoking his recent marriage of convenience with mormons?).
“Trump is really RUINING THIS ELECTION.”
And the country.
But it’s not too late.
Anybody notice Trump is AFRAID to debate Cruz, one on one, and the lies against Cruz are a HUGE deflection?
Our preacher asks the same question at least once a month — about enough evidence to prove you’re a Christian. It makes you stop and think every time.
The referenced “cult” is the Dominionism (7 Mountain) goofball religion.
Not a stitch of clothes on. This is NOT something to be proud of. Don't throw stones unless your hands are spotless. Trump Cheated on Ivana with Maples. No one seems to remember that. Wonder how long #3 will last, until her looks go? Then a much younger, super model will take her place. All were super models.

Funny, that's precisely how I summarized this article as well.
Cruz poked Trump. Trump turned around and knocked him the f*** out. Now Cruz's GOPe buddies are crying "not fair!"
sCruz with the bull...gets the horns
Jealousy is ugly. Certainly, not becoming of such a sanctimonious person like yourself.
There was a softcore thread of dominionism in most churches from the 80s on. Exponents such as Falwell, D. James Kennedy, on the cessasionist side, and Earl Paulk, Rick Joyner et al, on the Pentecostal side, were very popular TV guys with some of the people in the pews.
"We are charged with taking the country and the world for Christ, then He will return." That is what Dominionism meant. I don't think most Christians are discerning enough to make the proper distinctions here, theologically.
Now that you mention it, the 7 Mountain stuff is a hardcore recrudescence of that theology. I honestly don't think it has reached full-blown cult status yet; but it is, for sure, an heretical strand.
Talk about cults -- it was amazingly pitiful to me to have seen so many evangelicals following blindly after Ben Carson, not bothering to inquire after his theology, which is, in short, that all who worship on Sunday are part of the antichrist spirit, that Ellen G White is a prophetess of great and worthy note. Yeah, that's an electable guy /sarc
Agree. SDA is “out there” as well. Ellen White for SDA. Joseph Smith for LDS. Mary Baker Glover Patterson Eddy for Christian Scientists. L. R on Hubbard for Scientology. All cults have a person whose teachings and decrees over-ride the Bible.
Just one more reason why I do not support him.
