Interesting that the victim is from Poland. I wonder if her European origin, i.e., not a US woman, is why the government decided to charge him with a hate crime?
I would not look good to allow a black man to get away with this when they are always looking for racism in everyone else. It would be embarrassing.

I don’t know if anything has changed in my state, but several years ago I read an article that minorities cannot be charged with hate crimes in Illinois. No matter the circumstance, no matter the reasoning.
Some law or something that Durbin pushed through.

In a just world he would get 15-20 with 15 being the bare minimum. This is NYC though so all sense of right and wrong, especially justice, is thrown out with the bathwater.
NYC has to be the absolute worst city in the world bar none. That isn’t to say their aren’t some close seconds such as L.A. and Chicago.
They only have one single saving grace. They keep most of the loons there instead of infesting our smaller towns and cities on average. Exceptions like Austin, TX and other liberal strongholds do happen unfortunately. Wouldn’t it be nice to find a cure for liberalism/progressivism/and the rest of the mentally deranged souls on the left. Rhetorical question of course.
