He thinks he is so smart. Well he got caught this time. I bet if his words were studied one will find many instances of copied lines.
In propaganda, the phrase is key. If you can nail someone with a kill shot, it’s to your advantage.
The use of a movie line is a decent ploy, if it is appropriate.
Here Cruz used that line to defend his wife, as the President in the movie used it to defend his girl friend.
I don’t have a problem with that. However, if the president’s team had already taken a shot at the Senator’s wife, it would render this line woefully inappropriate. The president would have been the primary offender.
So here Ted goes hoping to disgrace Trump with that line, but failing to realize the dynamics are different here. Trump’s wife was attacked first by Ted’s overall team.
Trump tossed out the idea that if that’s the way Ted wants to play, he can play the game too. It was appropriate to say that.
Ted could demand his PAC stop, or watch what happens.
I don’t think Ted wants that.
So I don’t see this as a stolen phrase. Ted was actually hoping folks knew of the phrase, how it was used, and how inappropriate an attack on a spouse would be, instant identity with the movie.
Yeah Ted, as a matter of fact it was inappropriate for your team to attack Melania. If Trump had used the line Ted did, it would have been appropriate.
Ted used it, and it wasn’t.
Once again, Ted fails the commons sense social skills test.
This guy is a nimrod.
