Echoing a sentiment shared by millions of Republican primary voters across the country, conservative Fox News host Sean Hannity essentially placed the GOP establishment on notice during his Wednesday program.
The popular host was speaking about the not-so-secret plan that the party elites intend to try and use a "brokered" convention to more or less steal the nomination away from front-running candidate Donald Trump should he fail to garner the required number of delegates beforehand.
Hannity then proceeded to voice his extreme displeasure with the idea, even suggesting he would abandon the party if it came to that.
Hannity asked rhetorically, Are they going to cut their nose to spite their face?
"You know, if they are going to be that self destructive, and if they're going to pout, and if they're going to pick up their little toys, and they're going to go home like a bunch of babies, they will destroy, there will be no Republican Party at the end of this," Hannity proclaimed.
"Because if they're successful, guess what? Cruz and Trump supporters are walking out," he stated. "And, I'm walking out with them."
This is a threat that the GOP establishment should take seriously, as Hannity remains fairly influential among the more conservative base of the party.
Yet the Conservative Party has no one running for the White House.
He deserves respect for standing up to the RNC DC establishment pukes. Unfortunately, the RNC will gladly take the Hag over Trump.
Bkmrk.
If the GOPee tries to steal the nomination from either Trump or Cruz (whichever has the most votes at the time of the convention) then I’m done with them, too.
Yes, I like Hannity. If more like him would speak out it would hopefully snowball. Something or someone needs to wake the establishment up. I’m sick of hear the media say over and over how Republicans hate Donald Trump. Where was this when Romney was running and we all couldn’t stomach him!
Hyperbolic click bait headlines are the worst.
What if Ted is part of the theft?
Well, on one hand the latest from Cruz indicates he wants to be the new Rubio, the new darling of the establishment. He will be a good puppy and take orders. So I’m not sure about them turning on Cruz as well as Trump.
On the other hand, if they pull a fast one on Trump at the convention, assuming he 1237 or close to it, then Hannity won’t be alone on walking away from the Republican Party. A lot of people will. I will never again vote for any Republican at any level of government for as long as I live.
I doubt the Republican establishment, the patricians, care. They want their plaything and the donor money it yields. They don’t care if Hillary wins because the status quo prevails. If it is status quo, their meal ticket and unearned wealth continue on.
As for me, they embrace this revolution or I’m done with them forever.
What would be the point?
Hannity, BOR and Andrea Tantaros are the only reasons to watch FOX news any longer.
BOR, I know has alienated many here.
Right-there hasn’t been a ‘Republican’ party for a very long time.
They are exactly the people you think of, when you see the Liberals casting their worst insults at ‘Republicans’.
Exactly !
I realize that. It’s just he always makes it clear that he’s not a Republican. I, too, ceased to be one this year.
Madness over at the Rush thread! I don’t know how you do it.
Same here and I'll take everyone I know with me.
One of the most fair talk radio hosts (hear that Levin) this cycle. He even tried to give Kasich some air time. When he questioned Kasich on why he wants a brokered convention, Kasich got nasty.
Isn’t new york closed primary? I think he need to register republican to vote
Said he has been watching what has been going on and when Cruz showed the pictures of Trumps wife in her modeling career days, it was enough...
Said he didn't always agree with Trump, but this is over the mark, so he endorsed Trump...
WOW....being reported on Politico...
Fearing that the GOP frontrunner may be elected the R-Uniparty schemes for his defeat.
If they win they have no excuses. Better to lose, stay in power, do nothing, and enrich themselves.
“Hannity was sending a message that people are very mad at the GOPe. good for him.”\\\—
And you would consider that fact to deserve the term SHOCK?
Hardly.
It’s web bait.
