Only a handful of comments at the site but one, inevitably, is from an angry gay made even angrier by the authenticity and detail of the writer’s story.
While the gays and the left (possibly redundant) preach ‘live and let live’ it’s obvious that anyone willing and able to leave the hive becomes a target of irrational anger.
It’s probably because one individual’s success is the exception that smashes the rule to flinders ie there is no ‘born gay,’ there is no gay gene, there is no unchangeable condition. And without this so-called permanent basis, there is no pretext for legal protections, special status, etc.
the author’s account is consistent both with my observations and speculations, as well as conversations I have had over the years. I think this is spot on, and likely, close to being a universal story of “gay” men, at least in the west.
