HIATT: So what do you think Chinas aims are in the South China Sea?
TRUMP: Well I know China very well, because I deal with China all the time. Ive done very well. Chinas unbelievably ambitious. China is, uh I mean, when I deal with China, you know, I have the Bank of America building, Ive done some great deals with China. I do deals with them all the time on, you know, selling apartments, and, you know, people say oh thats not the same thing. The level of uh, the largest bank in the world, 400 million customers, is a tenant of mine in New York, in Manhattan. The biggest bank in China. The biggest bank in the world.
China has got unbelievable ambitions. China feels very invincible. We have rebuilt China. They have drained so much money out of our country that theyve rebuilt China. Without us, you wouldnt see the airports and the roadways and the bridges; I mean, the George Washington Bridge is like, thats like a trinket compared to the bridges that theyve built in China. We dont build anymore, and it, you know, we had our day. But China, if you look at whats going on in China, you know, they go down to seven percent or eight percent and its like a national catastrophe. Our GDP is right now zero. Essentially zero.

RYAN: You [MUFFLED] mentioned a few minutes earlier here that you would knock ISIS. Youve mentioned it many times. Youve also mentioned the risk of putting American troop in a danger area. If you could substantially reduce the risk of harm to ground troops, would you use a battlefield nuclear weapon to take out ISIS?
TRUMP: I dont want to use, I dont want to start the process of nuclear. Remember the one thing that everybody has said, Im a counterpuncher. Rubio hit me. Bush hit me. When I said low energy, hes a low-energy individual, he hit me first. I spent, by the way he spent 18 million dollars worth of negative ads on me. Thats putting [MUFFLED]
RYAN: This is about ISIS. You would not use a tactical nuclear weapon against ISIS?
[CROSSTALK]
TRUMP: Ill tell you one thing, this is a very good looking group of people here. Could I just go around so I know who the hell Im talking to?
Sure. Small format. True believers. Doctrinaire conservative base.
Unfortunately, for Cruz, that isn't the broader party, nor the general election. Nor has he expanded out of that group. Well, perhaps you count mormons...
In any case, if you are happy with Cruz, I'm happy for you. Either guy is far better than the Hildabeast.
Are you an agent-provocateur for the establishment cabal, or do you think that Ted Cruz is Yah’s dedicated servant to restore Christian dominance in America, or are you just so blind you can not see what is going on in America, today?
Why resort to insults?
“Wrong, Cruz blamed the rioters for their actions and held Trump accountable for his well documented statements about violence.”
You are being dishonest by attributing the responsibility for the occurrence of violence to Trump and the people who attended his rallies, when in fact they had no influence or responsibility for the violence perpetrated against them by Bill Ayres and his professional gang of violent socialist and communist supporting demonstrators and anarchists. It is precisely that kind of dishonesty and refusal to confront violence that is “eviscerating” support for Cruz and encouraging support for Trump and his frank expression of intolerance for criminal and incompetent behavior.
“But I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence to punch people in the face. The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates, and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We saw earlier today in St. Louis over thirty arrested.”
OK...technical.
This campaign is going to a contested convention.
I will gladly vote for Cruz and hesitantly vote for Kasich.
If Trump gets the nomination, he won't win the general election
Based on the fact that Trump held private conversations with the Clintons just prior to his announcing his run, the Democrats will have accomplished their intended goal, which is to destroy the Republican party and retain the presidency.
Anybody who listens to this interview will realize that Trump and his followers are delusional in thinking that he'll ever be elected President.
According to Alex Jones, Trump purposely "dumbs down" his speeches because the average American wouldn't understand the complexities of his ideas.
It appears he feels the Washington Post editorial board is also too stupid to understand the complex nature of his policies so he dumbed it down for them too.
I do no such thing. I blame the leftist rioters. I do hold Trump accountable for his statements about punching people.
This campaign is going to a contested convention.
Doubtful. An opinion at best.

Speculation at best.
I sure as heck hope Kasich is not the nominee or on the ticket, can’t stand the son of a mailman.
You: An opinion at best.
Since you and your candidate love to cite polls:
I'd really have to stretch myself.
It'd be a matter of a strategic vote vs a principled vote.
Kasich IS trouncing Clinton in the RCP Average though.
Exactly.
But maybe we should give Mr. Trump a break:
If the WaPo folks had asked him about building hotels in the South China Sea, I'm sure his answer would have had more substance.
(And ditto if they had asked him about building casinos, spas, golf courses or strip clubs. The South China Sea probably needs a few such establishments to cater to the thousands of Chinese military personnel stationed there.)
You sound awfully close to someone backing Hillary and Obama.
>> he is winning the majority of delegates in the primary <<
Uh, no.
A plurality of less than 50% isn’t a majority.
How so?
Is that a collective no, or no to each point? If a collective no, is it because you can’t be bothered to actually think about each point. If it is a no to each point, I would like to know, for each point, who you would trust.
“I do hold Trump accountable for his statements about punching people.”
What does fighting back in self defense by punching people who are engaging you in combat have to do with inciting violence from the demonstrators? Cruz lost respect from a massive number of voters by his remarks.

Just as accurate as a November weather forecast.
And the people who care about this were not voting for Trump anyway...
To date, I have seen NO ONE who dares even “reply to” Hillary, much less actually attack Hillary lies, deceits, deceptions, and flat-out corruption ... EXCEPT Trump.
How does he charge her with corruption? Well, to begin with, he says “Yes, she is corrupt. How do “I” know Hillary is corrupt? Well, for one, “I” had to pay her to stay in business in New York, New York City, and New Jersey.
>> Can you trust Trump to build a wall and get control of illegal immigration? <<
Probably not. And that’s probably why he won’t allow the NYT to release a tape or transcript of his meeting with them.
>> Can you trust Trump to reform taxes and trim the budget? <<
Taxes? Maybe. But budget? No way, given his ridiculous answer about “waste, fraud and abuse” — not to mention his pledge not to change Social Security.
>> Can you trust Trump to support the military and address the problems at the VA? <<
Not without his giving some credible and detailed plans about doing same. Mere promises aren’t persuasive
>> Can you trust Trump to defend the second amendment? <<
Maybe yes, maybe no. I can see no reason to have an opinion, either way.
Can you trust Trump to reduce government regulation and interference in the economy?
Not at all. He’s clearly a “big government” guy. He just thinks that he can do a better job of managing the government than can anybody else.
