Donald Trump Will (Almost Certainly) Never Be Elected President. Here’s Why.

By Greg Sargent March 21

With Donald Trump steamrolling towards the GOP nomination, the political chatter is increasingly focused on whether Trump could win a general election by making surprise inroads into states in the industrial Midwest. Many Democrats and nonpartisan observers see this as probably the only plausible (if that’s even the right word for it) path for Trump, who might do this mainly by running up huge numbers among white voters — particularly blue collar whites.

But a new examination of the demographics and projected voting patterns in some of the key Rust Belt states underscores just how unlikely this really is.

snip)

Given the overall margins that Obama won these states by — which are in some cases quite large — Trump would have to improve enormously on Romney’s performance among blue collar whites:

— In Michigan, where Romney beat Obama by 53-45 among working class whites, Trump would have to win among them by 62-36, an improvement of 18 points.

— In Wisconsin, where Romney beat Obama by 50-48 among working class whites, Trump would have to win among them by 56-42, an improvement of 12 points.

— In Pennsylvania, where Romney beat Obama by 56-42 among working class whites, Trump would have to win among them by 63-36, an improvement of 13 points. — In Ohio, where Romney beat Obama by 57-41 among working class whites, Trump would have to win among them by 60-38, an improvement of six points. (This is lower than the others because Ohio was much closer overall; but even six points is a pretty sizable improvement.)

Sargent has been arguing with Mickey Kaus 4 years straight with why open borders are wonderful.

The article completely ignores Trump's chances among black voters, and I think, while nowhere near a majority, it will be quite a bit larger than the average 4-7% we've been seeing in recent years.

These Bernie Sanders polls give away the BS.

It is Paulbots, Cruzbots & Bernbots messing with purity on the polls. Vote often and early on online polls and always vote the opposite of Trump whether general or primary.

Straight forward; from the title alone...I don’t see a reason to read the article.

The term “almost certainty”, simply has no reason to exist.

If something is certain, it is such, if something is almost certain...it by definition simply has not reached existence.

“I don’t know what this gentleman has said and what he hasn’t said”. That was his direct quote when Ted was asked, and I’m paraphrasing, about his accusations of liberal hate being fomented by the left leaders, and isn’t his association with this pastor an example of hate being fomented by the right leaders?

Of course by now its well known Trumpkins are congenitally incapable of addressing the substance of a news article, and oh, any poll that shows Trump in decline or losing, is one poll not to be believed. The kook-aid is in full effect.

Cruze or Lose.
Thanks Trumpkins (sarc) if the Donald becomes the republican standard bearer

Cruz gets his clock cleaned in the primaries but Cruzers think He is a winner in the general election? What, he's going to bring out the liberals for him in masses? If he doesn't get the conservatives in the primaries, he's not getting them in the general election. On a personal note, he sounds tinny to my ear.

“Demographer Ruy Teixeira conducted this analysis at my request. Teixeira was the lead analyst on a comprehensive report on the projected makeup of the 2016 electorate that was released by the “Center for American Progress” late last year”

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Center for American Progress is a progressive public policy research and advocacy organization. According to CAP, the center is “dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through progressive ideas and action.”

This article is pure garbage, backed up by a far left organization.

The far left loves to use the word “America” in their advocacy groups to fool the American public into thinking they are mainstream. It also allows the MSM to use their push polls and findings without sounding partisan.

The word Progressive is their code for Socialism

You believe what you want, but whatever you believe about Trump, the numbers increase significantly for Ted in the negative aspect. His negatives are greater than Trump’s are and his supposed loss margin to the Democrat candidate is also greater.

Mister. I made a reply post toward the end of the thread as of this time and I stated the exact fact of this fact.

Only I used more words and you were much more succinct.

I apologize for crossing your argument I just wanted to say “well spoken, sound semantic”.

Emerson poll: Hillary tops Trump by 17, Sanders beats Trump by 19 — in MARCH 18, 2016

Yawn. The same garbage propaganda back in 1980, 7-1/2 months out from the general election, had Ronald Reagan behind the incumbent President by 30 points.

Such polls, intended solely for the manipulation of public opinion rather than the measurement thereof, are the epitome of feeble spin.

Everybody knows this, and I mean everybody, especially those who conduct, publicize, and tout them.

Those who cite such reeking sh!t push polls are either a transparent, clumsy propagandists, or profoundly naive...

Slogans don’t cut it. Trumpkins can do better. Start to analyze the substance of the article.

Trump wins only because of a fractured vote. One on one, Cruz cleans Trump clock.
