Business Insider ^ | 9/27/10 | Michael Snyder

How convenient that 1865 was the low point for around 100 years. You lie just like Ted does just not as well.

1865 + 100 = 1965. Tariff percentage was well below 25% long before 1865. Who's the lair?

1865 +/- 50 years, 1815 to 1915. You must have rode the short bus to school right?

Trump is the last chance to save the USA in its current configuration. Ultimately the only way to free ourselves from the gloBULList cabal that is hollowing out the American economy, bankrupting us and destroying our opportunity to live as free prosperous adults would be to secede from FedGov™. That's the way I see it anyway.

There you go with that traitor talk again. You always talk of how you despise most of your fellow Americans. Why do you want to destroy America and then build another country with the same people? The ones you despise in the first place?

The last time I checked if you take a candy bar and break it half you still have a candy bar. Nothing got destroyed.

What's 50 years got to do with it? You said 100 years.

Really? Eliminated in 1850? Tell that to McKinley, Roosevelt, Taft, Coolidge, all of whom had tariffs.

How does one show his devotion to capitalism?

By supporting freedom of the people to pursue their happiness through their pocketbook, not by forcing them to pay the government to favor one business over the other.

Yeah. Sort of like when we used to send a gun boat and Columbia gave us Panama. Just like that.

Sooooo what you are saying is George Washington and almost all of the founding fathers were haters of capitalism because of their staunch support of protectionism? Do I have to rub your nose in it some more?

You despise non-protectionists and non-secessionists. That's most Americans.

I didn't just say "eliminated", I also said reduced. Their importance went down over the decades.

As for the former the Trump phenomenon speaks for itself as for the latter you've never been down south much. Give it time even dumbass Northeners will figure it out someday.

It was the only tool in the toolbox then. We have a much more efficient way to fund the government available to us now, the low flat income tax. The tariff is liberal compared to the flat tax.

LOL! You think 40 percent of GOP primary voters is a majority of americans? It's not even a majority of conservatives.

...as for the latter you've never been down south much. Give it time even dumbass Northeners will figure it out someday.

See, you despise Northerners also. I've been to the south a lot, I've never met an idiot that believes as you.
