Arizona's primary is Tuesday, but more than half the ballots have already been cast including for candidates who've left the race.
By the time Ted Cruz arrived Friday at the tiny border town of Douglas for his first Arizona event of 2016, he was already too late for the hundreds of thousands of Republicans who had already voted.
Election day is still two days away in Arizona but well more than half of Republicans expected to vote in the states Tuesday primary have already cast their ballots complicating Cruz's attempts overtake Donald Trump as both make a late push for the states lucrative, winner-take-all prize of 58 delegates.
A candidate cannot win Arizona if they dont do well in early balloting, said Nathan Sproul, an Arizona Republican strategist who had served as co-chair for Marco Rubios campaign in the state.
Arizona has among the most robust early-voting programs in the country. In Maricopa, the states largest county, early voters in 2016 comprise already nearly 90 percent of the countys total GOP turnout four years ago.

Hope so. He’s a globalist and a fraud and as his support base shrinks, he’s devolving into a cultist.
Yep, you Cruz you lose.
Let’s hope so ...the GOPe is going full scorched earth against Trump and will hand it to the DIMs by doing so ...
I think so. Although it’s clear that Ted has a lot of support in the primaries. The momentum and the urgency are still with Trump.
Short answer: very much so a yes.

Why are top Republicans meeting with major Dem donors?
Has lord McCain endorsed Cruz?
I find it difficult to believe there is anyone left supporting the Cruz campaign.
Glen Beck as: The Blob Father
Cruz is out of money.
or....... is there still time for Cruz to defeat the people's revolution against the political establishment?
Which is exactly what Cruz and his followers are seeking to accomplish whether they know it or not.
Beck has broken the news today that cruz is a Mormon “Preist”. Bye Ted.
I posted this yesterday on a different thread:
“It seems that Cruz is just doing what even he needs to do for short term gain (ie embracing Mormanism in Utah). He doesnt appear to be looking to win the nomination hes just trying his best to deny trump from getting 1237.”
Not for long ...the GOPe is about to step it up for Cruz
It’s also hilarious that he waited until FOUR DAYS before the primary to hold a campaign event at the Arizona border.
But please, tell us more about how you really care about immigration, Ted.
