A friend of mine on Facebook recently applauded the bravery of a mother and father in “transitioning” their seven-year-old. Hundreds of “Likes” and positive comments. Poor kid.
Many “modern” parents are too indulgent with their children. They let them do whatever they want and set no boundaries. It’s laziness and/or guilt driven for not having enough time for them.
I’ve never had the privilege of raising children of my own but I used to teach elementary school as well as help in the raising of my siblings’ children. Kids don’t LIKE being in charge and they need those boundaries. Without them, they do not do well.
