Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas says GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump is scared to debate and that Mr. Trump looks down on voters, counting on them to believe whatever he tells them.
Mr. Trump, citing a prior commitment to speak at a policy conference hosted by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), said Wednesday he would not be attending the GOP presidential debate that had been scheduled for March 21 but was ultimately cancelled.
His excuse is silliness, and it reflects his assumption that he thinks the voters cant figure out that hes not telling [them] the truth, Mr. Cruz said on Wednesday evenings The Kelly File on Fox News.
Mr. Cruz pointed out that the conference hosted by AIPAC is a multi-day event it runs from Sunday to Tuesday and Mr. Trumps schedule would likely have been accommodated.
He chose to speak right in the middle of the debate [because] hes scared to debate, Mr. Cruz said.
And, you know, he just, he looks down on the voters, Mr. Cruz said. He thinks theyre gullible and will believe whatever hes saying. So Im going to be in D.C. for AIPAC as well since Donald is running away from the debate. Im happy to debate him there. If he wants, we can debate foreign policy, but the problem is, Donald doesnt do very well in foreign policy [because] he doesnt have even a basic modicum of knowledge.
Mr. Cruz said hes happy to debate Mr. Trump in Utah, where the Fox News debate was to be held, or Washington, D.C., or anywhere else.

The Republicans walk the NRA line and refuse even limited restrictions.....I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun.

Im a conservative on most issues but a liberal on health. It is an unacceptable but accurate fact that the number of uninsured Americans has risen to 42 million. Working out detailed plans will take time. But the goal should be clear: Our people are our greatest asset. We must take care of our own. We must have universal healthcare.

Im fine with affirmative action.

Donald Trump Thinks Kelo-Style Eminent Domain is a wonderful thing

Donald Trump pledges to curb press freedom through libel laws
So someone disagrees and they are idiots polluting your air. Sounds like you’re the “authoritarian progressive populist” from here.
Trump isn’t the greatest debater. So what. Let’s see Cruz plan and execute the building of a skyscraper.
“Why are trumpfolx afraid of a 1-on-1 with Cruz?”
They aren’t. Cruz sounds like Kim Jong-un, demanding attention, then when ignored for the also ran he is, claims it’s because he’s so fearsome.
Sure you are Teddy.
“Are you aware you sound exactly like Obama cultists “
I don’t sound like one, thank you.
Now don’t reply to me until you graduated from the Ted Cruz fan school of cliches boilerplate responses.
And that is the salient point. He’s never around for the truly significant events that are shaping this race.
‘I’m not going to attack billy bob clinton’ comes to mind.
When did this actually happen?
“Cruz never single-handedly won a case in front of SCOTUS. He has always been part of a team.”
Never knew this. Did he actually have a speaking role, or was he basically doing paralegal work?
I didn’t know he was born in Canada until this primary.
I like your tag line. Compare and contrast with this:
“Trump told The Advocate he opposed legalizing gay marriage, but said he supported “a very strong domestic-partnership law” giving gay couples the same legal protections provided to heterosexual married couples. “I think it’s important for gay couples who are committed to each other to not be hassled when it comes to inheritance, insurance benefits, and other simple everyday rights.””
“Amending the Civil Rights Act would grant the same protection to gay people that we give to other Americansit’s only fair,” he said. Trump also said that he fully backed gays serving openly in the armed forces. “Don’t ask, don’t tell,” he added, “has clearly failed.”

He was generally the lead lawyer and argued before the SCOTUS.
I reflect on what might have been if Huey Long had not been killed in 1935. I look at the first newsreels of Huey Long, with his stem-winding oratorical style when he first came on the national scene. Then I look at one in August, just before he was shot. He is as poised and well-spoken as Calvin Coolidge. The master demagogue adapts to his medium. Long was as good at that as FDR, which is why the White House relaxed when Long died. And the Establishment which hated FDR so much would much have preferred him to Long.
again you seem to not understand the point of this debate, well in your case your opinion.
Those links, one is a blog, one from WND which is far off from what he has said about Israel and the other from the left wing Guardian which puts it’s headline biased .
Fact is cruz is behind yes or no?
Cruz has only won 3 primary election states, true of false?
Cruz won his own state with less than 50% of the vote, true or false.
cruz came third in the 3 all important swing states OH, FL, VA true of false.
cruz never won a county in two of those swing states, FL, VA.
cruz never won a single county in some southern states, true or false.
cruz is behind in delegates, true or false.
cruz has not qualified in the rule of 8 for the convention true of false?
cruz is behind in delegates true or false?
Now that are facts, there is no dispute, right.
So tell me how the hell can cruz think he can win this now when clearly the country does not want him regardless of how you feel or what your opinion is,.
It is over, done and dusted.
Mr. Trump should debate Sen. Cruz. Much of the earlier debates were useless, now it’s showtime. Both candidates need to be fully vetted.
Thanks for liking the tag line, now do I agree with everything to everyone, hell I don’t agree with my kids or my wife on everything, but no one is perfect, yes that goes for cruz.
Right now he is making himself look small and desperate and you for some reason can’t see that.
I think women don;t like the persona of Trump the media has pushed.
Once they get through the media filter, I think most women would realize Trump is going to protect their country and their future more than anyone can.
Shut up Cruz, you freaking moron.
That’s great, a guy with stances far to the the left of Romney (and even Clinton) who gave lots and lots of money to the likes of Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, and Nasty Pelosi is winning the Republican Primary, and we’re supposed to be on board because he’s bamboozled a lot of people into voting for him?
No thanks; I don’t vote for liberals.
Cruz is right.
Trump repeatedly said he wanted to go one-on-one with Cruz. Now he wants to run away.
The reason? Cruz has specific plans, in one-on-one, the candidates would be forced to show some depth, Trump would display how little he actually knows about constitution, law, defense, etc.
Trump would have to go beyond the 14 bumper stickers he repeats over and over and over without any indication he has ever even thought about the question “How?”
Chicken Donald.
Trump owns what, twenty out of 250,000 skyscrapers on the planet.
Not a big deal.
Then stay at home and sulk , thus giving Clinton a vote.
Trump has already run away with the nomination.. Cruz is done and he needs to get out instead of playing silly games.
