The instant gratification of the web has trumped (excuse the use of the word) the patient learning that many conservatives had to do during the decades of information black-out due to MSM control. In those years, we read what conservative journals were available and we discussed politics with our more reasonable neighbors and friends. In short, we prepared for ideological battle.
In these times, folks are repelled by the vile corruption and patent lies of the left look for similar cyber realms to vent on. Smash mouth beats fact. In due time, many of the old timers have left. Of course, there were epic - galactic - flamewars back at the beginning. Now, much of it is slogans and curses in capital letters. It seems to be a case of the tail wagging the dog. Our convictions are now sound bites and we use volume where reason once ruled.
I prepare for the death of the Republic because few there be that remember what that means. In the meantime, I read posts and applaud the stalwarts still here.
You need to go read Vox Day on the difference between logic-based arguments and emotion-based arguments, and when each one is effective.
