Alan Grayson (D-Demented-FL) has already stated numerous times that if Cruz is the nominee (or presumably the VP nominee) that he will immediately file suit against Cruz claiming he is ineligible to run.
Doesn’t matter if it ends up being ruled one way or the other, the damage it would do would totally hamstring any Republican presidential campaign.

Then why didn’t it hamstring McCain’s campaign when he was sued over eligibility? Or Obama’s? Enough “chicken little” hand-wringing over what those meanie weenie Democrats will do to us if we don’t back down preemptively.

Trump would take office regardless of the standing of the VP.
