Why would the Senate be strongly democrat if Trump is at the head of the republican ticket????

Firstly, because Trump is the least likely Republican to win the general election. In most head-to-head match-ups, he loses to Hillary.

Secondly, the Republican Senate is not especially beloved by the Republican voters.

More like Ryan’s back channel.....

The House has nothing to do with confirmation of federal judges.

I really hope Fonda isn’t cremated. I’m also hoping she passes before me so I can anoint her grave.

I don't know if this has been brought up, but it struck me when I heard it today, and Wikipedia confirms it, and I believe it means Obama has zero intention or hope that Garland would ever ever ever be selected. Rather, it's a pure political play to start lining up nominees for the Republicans to shoot down.

They guy is 63. Are you REALLY going to nominate a guy that old? Look at past nominations.

Wrong. Trump as the likely next President will be putting Mitch and the boys on notice that he is picking the next nominee.

This is all about the Senate preserving their own power.

If Trump wins they could conceivably use the same strategy to threaten the newly elected President in waiting.

Well its from NPR so it must be true. She turned on her sex appeal and got someone to talk. I hope Trump eliminates all npr subsidies.

I think he meant the Republican majority Senate would approve the next SCOTUS pick after the election, but before the next president takes office, AFTER Nov.8th 2016, but BEFORE Jan. 20th 2017

Duh. That’s always been the plan. McConnell has been careful to say we won’t consider it until after the election. He has not said until “after the new Congress convenes in 2017.”

They have always planned to push Obama’s nominee through in the lame duck session.

Rumor has had it for decades that Hanoi Jane Bitch is well aware of our intentions and has arranged for her filthy remains to be dispersed far beyond our abilities to salute them in an appropriately liquid fashion.

Do you believe those head to head polls???

Who puts them out??? Who is trying their damned hardest to influence people against Trump???

IMO, Trump will annihilate Hillary in the general Election...

Like you said, "Your opinion".

Polls this far ahead of the general election are, of course, of questionable value. You can't accurately foretell the future.

However, they are a reasonably accurate snapshot of the public mood today.

So, yeah, they mean something.

Stunts like this are exactly the reason voters do not trust the GOP.

the stupid party up to its old tricks again. they will never learn. after the election i think i'll switch my registration to independent. this GOP has been laughably incompetent ever since Reagan left office.
