There are also people who don't want to vote for Trump because they don't consider him conservative enough. Cruz would allay those fears. I don't know that Cruz would help Trump in the general; but he'd help in getting the nomination, IMO.
And Hillary and Huma will be going to jail.
Best pro-Cruz, common sense post I've seen yet this election season. As a Trump supporter who likes Cruz, I gotta say, thanks for the common sense reasoning here.
I think we’re getting there. Maybe just a few more Tuesdays. No more debates.
It would be a smart move, as long as Cruz behaved himself. I just do not think he has the temperament to agree to such a deal, Cruz that is.
Huzzahs for Jim.
God Bless, Jim.
I am not opposed to a Trump/Cruz ticket - especially given it would silence the establishment and we could start focusing this race on Hillary and making America Great again. Frankly, they will be the two top vote getters so in all fairness Trump/Cruz takes into account the people’s choice.
Thank you for voicing some common sense. Now let’s see who listens.
The problem is that Trump poisoned that well long ago. If Cruz doesn’t get the nomination, I imagine he will make a pro-forma endorsement of Trump because he made a commitment, but I don’t expect he will work very hard for him, nor do I think many of the Cruz supporters will jump right on the Trump Train.
Trump is a very nice man and Cruz is all; AmeriCAN.
Yes!!
Whatever chance Cruz had for VP, he blew it. Trump doesn’t forget. Part of his appeal though.
Some on other threads are wondering two things: 1. Has the animosity grown too strong to overcome between them? 2. What about Cruz’s citizenship? Can this be cleared you fairly quickly and sufficiently to appease all?
Cruz would help in the general. I would vote for Trump with gusto, instead of just holding my nose.
Hogwash. The two of them are both man enough to bury the hatchet.
Exaggerate much. There are a handful, that don’t want Cruz. That isn’t many. Would you like to try again?
John Boehner backs Paul Ryan for president, calls Ted Cruz Lucifer (washingtontimes.com)
I’m in.
Jim, I was hoping you felt this way too. This campaign has been the most bitter I’ve ever seen, but the stakes are so incredibly high there was no other outcome possible.
A lot of nasty things have been said. But it is time for all sides to suck it up and put aside the animosity. The whole reason I do politics, and many of you, is not for sport but because I want to leave something to the younger generation. So we just need to forget past hurts and unite to defeat the true evil, amoral communist Hillary.
I think Mr. Trump has much bigger plans.
