Gov. John Kasichs campaign is plotting to snatch the Republican nomination at a contested convention in Cleveland in August.
Kasich campaign chief strategist John Weaver blasted out a strategy memo during Kasichs Ohio victory speech that made clear that Kasich will seek to win the nomination at a contested convention. No candidate will win 1237 delegates, Weaver said in the memo.
Ohio governor Kasich defeated Donald Trump in the Ohio primary Tuesday night, with Kasich grabbing 43.4 percent of the vote to Trumps 36.5 percent, with 28 percent of the precincts reporting.
This is all I got, Kasich said in his Ohio victory speech. We are going to go all the way to Cleveland and secure the Republican nomination.
But Donald Trumps campaign scoffed at Kasich.

Caesar was warned to beware of the Ides of March.
He all of a sudden showed a dark side. Something to what Trump says about the bible in one hand....
I will not vote another rino. Sorry, you are going to have riots from Republicans.
I don't look at it in terms of "easy" or "difficult". I look at it in terms of "what are they willing to risk?" Kasich being in the race means that they will have to risk less. It means that when we come to the convention, it will be 950-Trump 750-Cruz 400 Kasich, 150 Rubio, etc.. instead of 1150 -Trump , 1100 Cruz, 150 Rubio, 50 Kasich, etc...
In the first scenario, they will at least be able to make an argument why it should be someone other than Trump or Cruz.
In the second scenario they will have no argument defending their choice to go with someone other than Trump or Cruz.
I am not suggesting that having an argument or not having an argument will influence whether they do it or not. I think they are going to take the nomination away regardless of any outcome.
The only question now is how costly it will be.
The saddest thing is to watch the lengths they will go to and the jeopardy they will put the party in just to fight Trump or Cruz while they do absolutely nothing to fight Obama.
I am actually shocked this guy won Ohio to be honest. He could not get the conservatives to come out for him nor the Trump voters.
It’s not only a “dark side” that is has emerged......but, IMHO, I do not think that John Kasich is the sharpest or best functioning knife in the drawer. This guy is not all together upastairs!! He goes nowhere....politcally....just an old delusional, GOP Establishment hack!!! the voters in Ohio should be ashamed of thenselves sending a looney tune like Kasich going forward. Go figure!!!
He is being funded by Soros and the elites....he will let Cleveland burn to save the GOP. Remember, he is Ohio’s Governor.
Watch the states with Republican Governors.
He is going to steal it and Rubio is going to throw his support behind Kasich.
Wasn’t Kashich best friends with Gary Condit ? of Chandra Levy fame...the mistress murdered in DC?
I want he’d him say that, and he goes on to be the next president. Wish it was satire.
He says he off to Pennsylvania. I don’t know what the political mood is there.
Many on this thread do not get it. The GOPe are saying that at the convention, the delegates are NOT bound to vote how their respective states voted — and, that they are free to vote however and for whomever they wish. This is why Kasich is staying in. He thinks, if the convention is a contest one, that the delegates will vote for him to avoid Trump. He thinks that because that’s what the GOPe insiders are telling him.
That would destroy the Republican Party, but these guys don’t care because they don’t want Trump to win, not just the nomination, but also the presidency. He’s not in the “club”. He’s not one of “them”.
There will be blood if they do that.
What you're hearing isn't Kasich. That's the deranged voice of the Uniparty/GOPe dickheads that are pulling Kasich's strings. Same thing with Cruz now, sadly. Remember the offensive political cartoon that portrayed Cruz's children as monkeys dancing for him, the organ grinder? Well, it was the GOPe that has been the organ grinder all along - and now Kasich and Cruz are the monkeys.
That may be the ‘last straw’ or ‘line in the sand’ that causes mayhem.
Think ‘they’ underestimate the seething anger that is out here.
Sounded that way, reading his statement.
“That boy ain’t right.”
