Could it be that his type of conservatism ended with the death and burial of Nancy Reagan?
He keeps saying 'we need a new Republican party.' He just never says what he expects it to be.
Goldwater couldn't reform the party.
Reagan didn't reform the party.
Trump is brining in the bigger tent people and both the Levins and GOP establishment are having fits over it.
Cruz/Kasich/Rubio are not bringing in many new voters. Not even the Hispanic voters.
It also comes down to a matter of trust. Trust the politicians (Cruz/Kasich/Rubio to do what they promise?) Many seem to believe Trump will do more to try to keep his promises. The massive number of Republicans sent to DC in the last 16 years have been mostly disappointing -- individually and as a group.
That's what Limbaugh said this morning, that the GOP stealing the nomination from the delegate leader at the convention will be just the next lie that the establishment makes to voters, this time that the primary process was a sham and the votes don't matter.
