The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has declared that he is withdrawing the majority of Russian troops from Syria, saying the intervention had largely achieved its objective.
The news, relayed to the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, personally, followed a meeting in the Kremlin with Putins defence and foreign ministers. He said the pullout, reducing an intervention that began at the end of September, is due to start from Tuesday.

Why? His mission was accomplished with resounding success, he humiliated the USA, and propped up an evil dictator by defeating the resistance that Obama was backing.... another lost war...
Those kind of banners can sometimes come back to bite you in the butt.
No doubt Trump will explain to America why this is a significant loss. “We don’t win anymore...
True, but only if you are Conservative or Republican... In this new Obama animal farm... all animals are equal except asses are more equal than elephants, sick are more equal than healthy, poor are more equal than rich, every race is more equal than white, gays are more equal than straights, atheists are more equal than Christians, Islamists are more equal than Americans.
Some of you guys think Putin managed something in Syria. Well unfortunately he didn’t do much.. and now he brings back his troops... Its called defeat.
He has only attacked the rebels but left nearly untouched and unharmed the huge Islamic State Organisation. ISIS is 100% intact in Syria.
SO there is nothing to be happy about. Isis has won this round again if Russia pulls back its troops. Maybe its time for the USA to do something further now. Lets bring in those B52’s
“Almost five million Syrians fled the regime and/or the fighting, living now in Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon”
And Germany and Greece and Sweden and......
Shortly to be turned into a glass parking lot after they leave. A parting gift.
“Only” about a million have arrived in Europe, including 130K by sea. 4.4 million took refuge in neighboring countries, mostly Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon.

Don’t doubt that he left plenty of Ordnance for Assad and his pals.
Russians have learnt since Afghanistan. This is how you do an intervention. Go in fast and hard, take out the bad guys, get out. Staying never works.
Putin shows the dimwits in the West how it’s done.
Go in immediately, not a decade later after trying to play pretty-please-mother-may-I with useless idiot peaceniks that do nothing but give your enemy time to dig tunnels and disperse stuff.
Kill every goatscrewer who gets in your way, the instant they oppose you, and make no apologies. Don’t get your own troops killed trying to decide which one of a dozen lookalike God-knows-whodunit savages fired the gun or lit off the IED...this is WAR and you are not a Chicago cop trying to figure out which one of a dozen Jamel Robinsteals robbed the gas station this time.
When your goal has been as accomplished as you can do so, LEAVE. Don’t spend a decade rebuilding the mud huts of ungrateful savages who’ll revert to their ways the minute you go.
I've cited that myself more than once. But, I'm beginning to believe it's a minor factor. Consider what the Saudis and their allies are spending to try to knock out Assad. Now consider the cost of shipping the oil / gas by tanker. There is presently a lot of spare tanker capacity, too, and the cost of new supertankers has dropped to ~$91 million.* The Saudis could buy or have built their own, and operate them themselves (probably with a lot of Filipino, etc., crewmen.)

Pipelines are normally cheapest, of course, but not in this case! Either the Saudis are fools, or, there is MUCH more to it, even from their viewpoint.
Again, Putin left ISIS intact! its a disaster !!
He just pushed the rebels back a bit, those who were fighting both Isis and Assad. The BIG question is, Why did he barely touch ISIS ?? Well history will tell...
One thing is for sure though: ISIS best ally is PUTIN. Putin has diminished the regular rebels who were fighting both ISIS and ASSAD, now Isis has the luxury of fighting more exclusively ASSAD and western interests. Terrorism is now up massively in the EU. We havent seen nothing yet. Syria has now become Isis absolute fortress / training camp for terror.
Putin abandoned its war. Another defeat. What a waste of time.
I hope we as americans can continue what Putin didn’t dare to do. Lets finish the job in Syria, by targeting ISIS! Yes ISIS. Putin avoided them at all cost... lets not forget that...
Obama State Dept propaganda lies. Russia sent its troops to fight all terrorists. The US side seems only to mention ISIS but for some reason does not mention al-Nusra (al-Qaeda in Syria) and the other terrorist outfits. There were few moderate rebels and the true moderates - the Kurds - are working with Assad now and Russia.
So this BS narrative is called.
ISIS took over the mostly depopulated eastern part of Syria. al-Nusra (aka al-Qaeda) was in with the various Syrian rebels in the more important parts of Syria like Aleppo. Those had to be dealt with first.
Lastly, Obama targeted ISIS for a year plus with nothing to show for it.
According to CNN (just now at around 10pm) - Syria will target ISIS in the coming months as the remaining rebels seek peace talks thanks to Russian bombing.
Not true. This is the Kurds official news outlet:
http://rudaw.net/english/kurdistan/140320161
Kurdistan Russia assisted Peshmergas war against ISIS, says ministry By Rudaw 21 hours ago ERBIL, Kurdistan Region The Kurdish Peshmerga ministry says that Russia has helped the Kurdistan Region with arms against the Islamic State (ISIS) following a meeting between the Kurdish president and Russias ambassador to Iraq on Sunday. Chief of Staff of the Peshmerga Ministry Jabar Yawar told Rudaw that more Russian help has been promised.
LOL.
I guess all the terrorists are dead.
Wiping them out is hard to do when they take whole cities hostage and are embedded among the innocent, and have many captive “brides.” We would have to stoop to their level. However, I do think we should blow up the trucks they are using to take oil to Turkey. Drop message to truck drivers they have 1 minute run like heck, then bomb the trucks.
The PKK Kurds are not the same ones that we have supported in northern Iraq the past decades. The PKK are communists and perhaps cooperating with Russia.
That makes sense. He has now reached the point where he has to pay for making of buying new ammunition, just when oil is not bringing in much income. Also, what is that a picture of?
