I use tomato soup - a little in when I’m mixing up (along with a touch of milk, an egg, herbs and some saltine cracker crumbs) and pour the rest on top out of the can about 15-20 min before it’s done. Our family has been making it this way for many years.

I use tomato soup as well. Gives a better taste than just ketchup.

I add 1/2 cup water, and more bread crumbs. I Pat it down in an 8x12 pan so every piece tastes like an end piece. Crusty on top.
