Conservatism is a set of principles, principles set forth n the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. A Constitutional conservative respects the limits set forth in the Constitution by “We the People” and that document states that the natural citizens are those born in the country in one of the 50 states of this country, that at birth, they are both citizens of the Nation and of the state wherein they reside.

Ted Cruz is not a Constitutional natural born citizen, therefore, he does not represent Constitutional conservatism, he represents a living, breathing document that is ever changing with every whim of any given generation. To protect Constitutional conservatism & the future of our Republic & its form of government, we turn to George Washington and his farewell address,

If, in the opinion of the people, the distribution or modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates. But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this, in one instance, may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed. The precedent must always greatly overbalance in permanent evil any partial or transient benefit, which the use can at any time yield…

As avenues to foreign influence in innumerable ways, such attachments are particularly alarming to the truly enlightened and independent patriot. How many opportunities do they afford to tamper with domestic factions, to practice the arts of seduction, to mislead public opinion, to influence or awe the public councils. Such an attachment of a small or weak towards a great and powerful nation dooms the former to be the satellite of the latter.

Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence (I conjure you to believe me, fellow-citizens) the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government...

Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests…

Spot on. I think this is why Trump isn’t concerned, Cruz is out due to birth or lack of numbers. Doesn’t matter as long as we get the same result.

I too have referred to Washington’s farewell address as a warning. Both for Obama, and now for Trump. Of course the party pendulum has been swinging pretty much from the start.

Quote:

I have already intimated to you the danger of parties in the State...let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally....

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty....

Please be serious and stop posting this drivel. The Constitution has no such definition, and when the 14th Amendment was ratified, there were not 50 states, nor did the 14th Amendment say that anyone born in this country is a citizen. That is, simply, like most of the nonsense your Messiah has told you to believe, a lie.

The courts will decide the issue of Cruz's eligibility, and that has nothing to do with why you dislike him. You dislike him because he is in the way of your God/Emperor. Period.

It's laughable (and frightening) how many supposed "conservatives" suddenly decided Ted Cruz was a "Canadian" simply because their Savior announced he was.
