Donald J. trump:
From the mouth of Donald Trump:
January 23 - “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.”
November 22, Maybe he should have been roughed up . . .
February 1 - If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, just knock the hell out of them. I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees.
February 23 - I’d like to punch him in the face, I tell ya.
I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They’d be carried out on a stretcher, folks.
Now, Sen. Ted Cruz:
This is exactly what Cruz said.
“It is my hope that going forward we will have a substantive, issue-based discussion, where we can have differences about how we turn this country around, that we do so in a way that appeals to our better angels instead of our worst instincts,” Cruz continued. “That seeks to pull us together, and unite us, instead of tear us apart. You know, we’ve seen for seven years a president who often at times of crisis, has sought to divide us, sought to divide us on ethnic lines, on religious lines, on class lines. Americas better than this. We dont have to tear each other apart.”
Asked if Trump should have gone ahead with the rally, Cruz paused for a moment, then said the decision should have been based on public safety.
“But I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face,” said Cruz. “The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates, and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We saw, earlier today, in St. Louis, over 30 arrested. Thats not how our politics should occur. You know, the city of Chicago in 1968 saw some ugly days, when politics descended into hatred and incivility and even violence. It is my hope that in 2016 we can appeal to our better angels, to avoid going down that road once again.” - Ted Cruz
My original question was meant to be a question about process - how do you logically get to “all Trump’s fault” from what he said. I would ask you similarly how you get from “Cruz also compared the demagoguery of Trump to President Obama” to “Cruz has a lot more in common with Obama than Trump does!”? Both statements seem a bit of a stretch to me.
There’s no doubt that Trump is a populist. The logical leaps, tortured inferences and outright nasty name calling (yesh, yeah everyone does it) do little to assure me that Trump supporters are using anything but “feelz” in their decision-making process. That bugs me because that’s how we ended up with Obama.
That report was FALSE as Beck was not talking about stabbing TV Star.
“Since this story was first reported, it’s become clear that the “stabbing” remark was not directed at Donald Trump but at Beck’s in-studio colleague. It was a joke during the normal course of banter on the show.” Newsmax
Thank you for the recap freeangel!
While young Rafael was skateboarding in Calgary.
Actually the way Cruz’ lips seem to not move with his alliteration, it was way funny!
Then the rational part of me realizes that only gives them excuses for the irrational behavior they have and opens the way to civil war. What you call your rational part others call appeasing or even pacifist.
How is Cruz going to handle swarms of BLM and other Soros-funded leftist agitators crashing his rallies?
Those people that Cruz handled were individual liberals talking mere policy disagreements.
It is not the same.
If any Republican(even GOPe) gets elected they will be dealing with widespread civil unrest in America. Guaranteed. It’s only going to get worse. This is how Cruz deals with America’s domestic enemies? He surrenders to them. Winning an election that’s all he’s about.
“While young Rafael was skateboarding in Calgary.”
So you’re holding Cruz’ youth against him, not very Reagan i must say!
***The leader is responsible for the tone that they set.***
Then Cruz is responsible for Beck calling Trump a Nazi, comparing him to Hitler and saying he wants to stab Trump.
Still reporting a falsehood.
Since this story was first reported, its become clear that the stabbing remark was not directed at Donald Trump but at Becks in-studio colleague. It was a joke during the normal course of banter on the show. Newsmax
Sen Ted.....OK,then, let’s see here. By ‘THE TOP’ this can only mean you are not running your campaign staff? You allow another to ‘rule’ in your name? And just who might that be? Jeb Bush, Daddy Bush, George Bush, Mitt Romney? Come on Lyin’ Ted -givie us a name of the individual we should blame for the damage done in your team. This malarky from a man who wants to stand UP for the freedoms of WTP. You, sir, are not off to a very good start when you lay down and spread your legs. You just lost many of your supporters, you and your ambitious wife. Now much more is coming into focus. YOU are not ONE OF US.
He has modified that to “the less educated.” There is nothing pejorative in that.
That is not a fact.
“He has modified that to the less educated. There is nothing pejorative in that.”
Looked for Cruz’ comment “the less educated”. Can’t find it. Would you link me to that please.
I am NOT in favor of that wording as it is pejorative. I would hope the statement was “the less informed”.
Well I certainly laughed, but then I’m not in the Cruz camp. The garden gnome part struck me as funniest.
Btw, I did check to see if a Trump Bad Lip Reading had been posted on YouTube. Indeed it has, and has 30,000 views. To get that kind of action it can’t be all bad...or all good, depending.
“That is not a fact.”
If you mean that Newsmax didn’t report that, you are incorrect. Also, that clarification was also made by Beck himself when it was first mischaracterized.
And if Beck was so against TV Star, he would have doubled-down. I have never heard of Beck wanting anyone harmed.
Super, i’ll look for it. Humor is the true badge of courage and allows all sides to get perspective!
Same way Trump did. Police. Toning doeethe retoric would also help. Now that the house is on fire, gasoline’s of little help.
Perhaps Trump could stop the riot by calling them all loosers and bimbos again?
