I’m glad Cruz will appear. It will give him a chance to explain why he supports the Black Lives Matter position on free speech. I’m sure it will be dignified and not nuttier than squirrel poop.

If anyone needs a good laugh check out Conservative Pundit on Twitter. On fire, in the best way possible. Here's some recent political insights from that expert observer, who I'm guessing works for The Blaze or NRO:

Conservative Pundit ‏@DemsRRealRacist Mar 11

My source on the ground in Chicago tells me a Trump aide has wrested a baton from a CPD officer and is assaulting Michelle Fields with it.

Leave it to Donald Trump to turn a placid, peaceful city like Chicago into a violent warzone.

Conservative Pundit ‏@DemsRRealRacist Mar 11

Tonight I join Soros-funded professional agitators, mobs of feral black hoodlums, and Senator Ted Cruz in saying this is all Trump's fault!

Conservative Pundit ‏@DemsRRealRacist Mar 11

Just saying if Trump were less vocal about his convictions then this wouldn't have happened. Stick to polite, quiet, ineffectual dissent.

I apologize if one of my tweets last night came off as insensitive. Usually "black hoodlum" wordfilters to "teen." Don't know what happened.

Thanks very much and Blessed Lord’s Day, AB!

I am super shocked, but very pleased to see that Donald Trump is on every Sunday show because my DirecTV only shows him on FNS!

I must set TIVO right now!

OH, and I am happy, happy, happy Daylight Savings Time is finally here!

Morning AB, All.

Next week is Palm Sunday and by popular demand we shall sing “For Those Tears I Died”.

Well, maybe you hadda be there.

Anyway, went to confession the other night, my once a year thing as required by the faith. I always go in Lent when they bring in the stranger priests because anybody who thinks I am going to confess to Father Flowers please consider yourself wrong.

By the way, before I forget, thank you AB for reliably doing this thread, even when robbed of an hour’s sleep. Thank you Bray for weekly wisdom and thank yon commenters for wise input that shall await me upon return from church, 10 am mass.

So all day, all damn day, I pray to God-who hates me by the way, more on this later. I pray, I ask for His help to keep me from what be embarrassing situations so don’t let me near Father Tom because I ain’t confessing to him. I never confess to my priests, didn’t the one before Father Tom. It bothers me to have people walking around me every day who know my sins. I didn’t want to hurt Father Tom’s feelings as the man LOVES confessions, I think I know why but it doesn’t matter. He will often crack a joke around me that I need to confess something or other that I said, indicating I’d be confessing to HIM.

Again, maybe you hadda be there. But my thoughts were, to Father Tom’s joke, that he better not hold his breath.

I even saw Father Tom’s car parked over by the office and I physically moved the Jeep around to the front of the church so the priest would not see me and maybe want to say Hi. Or something.

The usher says, as I walk into the church, that all of us should sit in the middle of the church. They got the pews taped off on four corners so that the stranger priests can hear confessions privately. So I do what the usher says, still praying to God that he makes this go smooth.

The priests arrive and take their place, Father Tom at the altar. I am looking around figuring out where to position myself so I do NOT get Father Tom.

The usher comes in, stands by my pew, and says, “People in this pew (MINE)”, up to about three in front of me, “shall confess to Father Tom.”

I look around in a total panic. All damn day I prayed and the people in these pews as indicated by the usher are getting in line to confess to Father Tom and I got to get out of there.

Man I looked like the Pink Panther, grabbing my pocketbook and trying to sneak over to the other side of my pew to get in line for another priest.

Anyway, I am going through a rough spot in my faith and I am convinced that God hates me, or is very mad at me. There are times when I cuss God out for hours at a time.

That old saying that God does not give us more than we can handle? Like I told the priest I DID confess to, that’s not true. Plenty of people get more crap than they can handle and I am on the precipice.

Speaking of my confessor priest, maybe later, but he was situated about four feet in front of Father Tom and come on, God is really messing with my head.

He was a sweet guy and we ended up laughing and when I got up to leave he grabbed my arm and hugged me…..I am not making this up, what the hell is it with me and priests?

But it turns out that hating God is NOT a sin.

Well go to hell. I thought it was and it was the only reason I even went to confession, a Catholic thing I am just not sure I believe in.

The confessor priest could see I was distraught, and I was….I really do NOT want to hate God and I sure don’t want God hating me. I could sense he wanted so bad to comfort me and he did, he really did. He told me God had big shoulders, that he (the priest)-as am I- was from Maryland…Queen Ann’s county which I told him I would not hold against him.

When he pulled me down to hug him well damn if the whole entire church didn’t see but it was not a bad thing. That priest went to bed that night a happy man because he wanted so bad to calm a distraught parishioner, and he did. I made sure he knew that I appreciated his kindness.

After, the ushers came up to me and asked if I knew this priest’s name….maybe it was the big hug that had them thinking I knew the guy but even now I don’t even know his name.

Anyway, sorry for taking up so much of the time but serious, God simply does not like me because I am constantly being found guilty of stuff I DID NOT DO!

I find this past week’s efforts to hurt this Donald Trump campaign. I am not a Trump person but come on, why do these organizations get away with this stuff?

Looking forward to wise commentary.

Maybe not directly related, I just tuned into “CBS Sunday Morning” and they are doing their entire show on “Guns in America”. While the host (Charles Osgood is away today) stated the intent was to not take one side over the other, when they featured a story of a ten year old killing their sibling accidentally, I decided to give the whole thing a miss right then and there. Gee, should I have not been too surprised over something like that?

On ABC, Cruz is continuing his vicious LIES about
Mr. Trump to Stephanopoulos about the Ayer/Bush/DNC attackers.
Stef and Cruz agree and purport that Trump created the violence.

DisgusTED.

On ABC, Rubio goes further with the recent LIES about
Mr. Trump. Rubio is encouraged by Stephanopoulos to ignore the Ayer/Bush/DNC attackers
and he considers withdrawing his pledge to support Trump if he is the nominee.

"No show" Rubio spouts and repeats every lie of the MSM.

The 2016 GOP Primary has brought to the front an old divide in Conservatism. There currently is a war being waged between the Dogmatics and the Realists. The Dogmatist care nothing about political realities, only the purity of the candidate political dogma matters to them. The Realist understands you have to be able to advance the political ball down the field to achieve the goals of the dogma. The Realist understands some times a flawed tool is going work better then the flawlessly poltical pure tool.

Reagan, who was a realist, wrote about it.

By Ronald Reagan in his autobiography An American Life

“When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn’t like it. “Compromise” was a dirty word to them and they wouldn’t face the fact that we couldn’t get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don’t get it all, some said, don’t take anything. I’d learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: ‘I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.’ If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that’s what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.

Th Dogmatic at NR, Town Hall, Red State and the rest of the “Conservative” media sneer at the realist as being “nihlistic towards DC and the GOP”.

It is not Nihilism, it Realism. Since 1988 Conservatives have faithfully pledges their treasure and time to the GOP. Despite elections successes in 1988, 1994, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2010 and 2014 what have Conservative gotten from the GOP?

Prosperity? Nope worse economy since 1979.

Reduction in Government-nope as expense, corrupt, incompetent, intrusive and bigger then ever

Supreme Court? Nope as far left as it has ever been.

A Nation secure? Nope at risk in a dangerous world. Military broken, exhausted and overextended.

A respect for rule of law and the Constitution? Nope. Goveremnt, and society, is more lawless then it has ever been.

A healthy growing vibrant society? Nope stagnant or in decline everywhere in every way.

So, it not Nihilism, it Realism. It is a realistic assessment that doing the same thing again this year electorally is going to continue this decline and degradation from DC.You can only overcome inertia in any system with force. So we need to force DC out of it denigrate path onto a new path. So why Trump rather then Cruz?

I know this falls on deaf ears with 100%ers at NR, Red State and other “Conservative” media but the fact remains, we are a Constitutional Republic that rests on the notion that the people’s Representatives in Government know how to compromise and negotiate.

This feeling that Cruz will ride into DC and dictate the Conservative Media’s 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking. What is more probably is Cruz would be a GOP Carter.

Carter was the same sort of religious political puritan who went to DC and assumed he would dictate his political dogmas to everyone there. The record shows how badly that idea failed.

“Conservative” politicians talk a good game and then go to DC and accomplish nothing. After 30 years of fail, it is time to try another solution. The winning candidate is, brace yourseelf.... going to have to cut DEALS! And some times those deals require..compromise!!!

Another fail point for the “Principled Conservatives” is they think only as far as the election. Then once they win their purity candidates go to DC and fail against the inertia of the DC/Media political machine. 1988-1994-1998-2000-2002-2004-2010-2014 are all example of where this “Next election” mindset has failed.

Trump is merely the 1st wave of a multi wave assault. Cruz might do for a follow up wave, he is not a 1st wave candidate. Without Trump to lead the way, the Cruz boat would of either been ignored because it was irrelevant, or been shelled into oblivion by the $10s of millions of GOPE attack ads.

The 1st wave job in any assault is to shatter the defenses and open the road for the follow up waves. No matter how flawed you think the vessel is, Trump is the best 1st wave political assault team we have had to hand in my lifetime.

We need to use Trump for all he is worth to shatter the corrupt, “my party right or wrong” mindset that grips vast swaths of the electorate. Break that inertia, get the people thinking outside the party label box and real change is possible. Do not an we slide into a stagnate European style decline that will not end in my lifetime. Cruz shares that agenda point but is not as well equipped by background and media following to achieve that break through as Trump

We either win this now or we have little chance of ever doing it again politically. Once we win we must relentlessly stay on the attack election wave after election wave until we are dead.

I am really not willing to leave this fight to my kids and grand-kids. We have let the ship of state drift since Reagan in the hands of the “smart people”. We failed and must redeem that failure.

This is our generation’s “go” time

This is a Wellstone Memorial type moment and the GOPE is on the wrong side. Really bad political error siding with the rioters and against the voters rights for Free Speech and Free Assembly
